🌼🌸 2024 Spring statement summary of announcements.

🌼 National Insurance contributions for employees are being cut by 2p per pound (from 10% to 8%) from April - saving around £450 per annum for average earner.

🌼 Self employed National Insurance rates to be cut by 2p per pound also (from 8% to 6%) from April.

🌼 VAT registration threshold for businesses upped from £85,000 to £90,000

🌼 Child benefit high income charge threshold raised when 1 parent currently earns over £50,000 per annum to new threshold of £60,000 in April. The top of the taper at which point child benefit is withdrawn will be raised to £80,000 (if you are inbetween these figures then annual self assessments will be required if you do not opt out of receiving the benefits).

🌼 Non-dom tax status is to be abolished for foreign nationals who live in the UK but are officially domiciled overseas will now no longer be able to avoid paying UK tax on their overseas income or capital gains.

🌼 Higher rate of property Capital Gains tax reduced from 28% to 24%

🌼 Stamp duty relief for people who purchase more than 1 dwellings in a single transaction is scrapped.

🍁🍂 2023 Autumn statement summary of announcements.

🍁Class 2 National Insurance for self employed abolished - this should save the average self employed person £192 per annum.

🍁Full expensing business tax break has been made permanent.

🍁Business rates have been frozen as well as 75% discount for retails, hospitality & leisure companies.

🍁Small business multiplier has been frozen for another year.

🍁The financial incentives for Investment Zones and tax relief for Freeports has been extended from 5 to 10 years.

🍁National minimum wage will rise by 9.8% in April 2024 to £11.44 per hour (ages 21 & over).

🍁Employee National insurance main rate cut by 2% from 12% to 10% to start from January 6th 2024.

🍁State pension will be increased by 8.5% from April 2024.
