Horsebox Workshop × Travel Two (Travel 2 Horseboxes)

Polly (Lawrence’s mum) is now officially retired from her longstanding Travel Two horsebox business.

Travel Two horseboxes are well known for their no‑nonsense, super‑strong, safe and user‑friendly design. It would be a shame for these boxes to retire with Polly — so we are continuing the brand!

Alongside our Crossovers, Horsebox Workshop is now offering Travel Two coachbuilds, available in 3.5t–4.5t models.

Oh, and here is one for sale that was made earlier: a fantastic example of a gently used Travel Two build — light, airy, with loads of storage and a safe, practical layout.

The numbers:
Price: £23,000
Plate: 2012
Miles: 102k
Model: 3.5t
Payload: circa 1 tonne

The perks:
Dual camera system
Air‑conditioning
Satnav
Aluminium grilled partition
Bespoke shelving in the groom’s area
Large loading gates
Emergency rear exit

Annual Horsebox Check Over! 👀

Over the course of a year, sealants can perish, partitions can droop, and water can find its way under matting and into ramps. An annual horsebox service can catch issues before they become serious problems.

We can check that your horsebox is safe for another year and offer tailored maintenance and care advice.😊

Spring is almost (😣🤞) in the air — time for a horsebox spruce-up?

👀

This Bridle & Box self-hire horsebox came in for a fully sealed, one-piece floor mat to replace the existing multi-piece matting.

When mats are loose or fitted in multiple sections, moisture often gets trapped below, which can significantly reduce the lifespan of the floor beneath.

In this case, the floor underneath was still sound — perfect timing for a preventative upgrade ☺️

What does a horse want in a box?
Only one way to find out!
Our survey said:

1. Calming exterior paintwork: Lots of votes for heritage greens. Big hooves down for startling fluorescent yellow! 🫣

2. Plenty of light and air: A window to look out of is a particular bonus, as is an opening window to the cab (acceptable journey soundtracks include Classical and country music. Heavy metal or random jazz? Window closed please. 🙏)

3. A cushioned partition with customisable comfort settings: One respondent wanted to point out that they prefer a tight-fitting, narrower stall as it is more supportive when cornering. 😌

4. Extra partition setting: Most were in favour of a diagonal setting on the partition to enable tacking up inside in bad weather. It’s just nicer for everyone. 🤷‍♀️

5. Emergency exit: The reassurance of knowing they can exit through the back if the ramp is compromised got plenty of mentions. Some of the more experienced travellers recalled the days when a ramp issue often involved sedatives and angle grinders. 😬

6. Minimal noise: Anything that can help protect sensitive ears from rattly partitions or jangly fittings is hugely appreciated. The list isn’t ordered by priority—if it were, this one would be higher up! 🤫

7. Lighting: If the box is being used after dark, a decent light for loading and a bit of low-level lighting for the journey is ideal. Being locked in a pitch-black moving box would be disconcerting for anyone. 😳

8. Curved, rounded edges: Attention to these details helps make for a smooth ride. 😊

9. Extras: Not requirements, but little extras that can make all the difference. Just a couple of examples: wash-down/horse shower (self-explanatory), full-length mirror for the rider (don’t let the team down!). 😎

10. Treats and snacks: Last but by no means least! Vital to have facilities for them to be secured but easily accessible. Nom nom nom 😋

Horsebox Workshop Crossovers: Sleek and nimble with happy horse energy ☺️

Solero and Diesel didn’t need the extended roof of our Crossovers; they were comfortable in their old standard conversion.
But if the option is there, why not?! 🤷‍♀️
The increased head height creates an inviting, light-filled space with great airflow.
What these cuties were particular about was haynet and treat positioning.
They prefer to munch downward, but also like the support of a high breast bar.
So, we lowered the tack lockers and positioned the removable breast bar above.
And just like that, a bespoke snacking station 😊

Horsebox Workshop Crossovers:
Breast bar and locker to lean on a must?
Prefer a long stall?
We have a layout to suit everyone—including those who don’t identify as equestrian*
Option to add a couple of internal tie rings, so the NHOH can use it for bike trips, canoe adventures, etc. (Ahem 🤭).
