How long does it take to claim tax back?

The process can take 10-12 weeks to complete. While you may receive your tax refund sooner, a comprehensive claim will take 2 weeks to put together and 8-10 weeks for HMRC to process it. These timescales may be longer at peak times for HMRC and the sooner you are able to provide information and supporting documentation to us, the quicker we can compile your claim.

How much does it cost?

What documentation will you need to provide?

You will need to provide certain proof of income, such as a P60 or payslips in support of your claim. As you can claim a refund on your tax for up to 4 years, we know you may not always have copies of these to hand.

If you are employed (or were employed in the past 4 years) you should be able to obtain copies of your P60 and payslips from your employer / previous employers. Employers are legally obliged to keep this information for up to 6 years. If you are CIS, self-employed or limited company director, you should be able to obtain this information from the Government Gateway.

How does the claim process work?

The first step is making contact with one of our team. After an initial information gathering call, we’ll let you know exactly what you need to provide to support your claim. Once you’ve provided us with these, we take the whole thing from there. Our specialist and FCA-accredited tax agents will create, submit and manage your claim with HMRC.
