The Chinese culture has many elaborate and rites. is usually favoured, but, like in most cultures nowadays, funerals are becoming more and more popular.
Burials have to be carried out following the laws of Feng Shui and are usually arranged by the children of the deceased or younger members of the family. Before the person is buried, the family take turns to watch the body in a known as shou ling.
White represents in Chinese culture, so it is common to dress in white and bring white flowers and wreaths. It is also a custom to burn paper money, known as Joss money as it is believed the spirit of the deceased will need money in order to access the afterlife.
