Business Administration & Receptionist

Hours: Part Time 25 hours
Mon-Fri 10.00am-3.00pm

The practice is looking for a business admin/receptionist to support it’s daily operations by providing information, advice and guidance to visitors and staff and also offering a professional, warm and friendly first point of contact for the firm.

As a business admin/receptionist, you will be contributing to the running of an efficient and responsive accountancy practice, which will support the professional image of the firm.

You will welcome visitors and deal with telephone and email enquiries and also contribute to the clerical process, maintain databases, carry out onboarding procedures etc.

You must have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, good ICT knowledge and ideally experience in customer service.
You must be friendly, professional and approachable.

Accountancy isn’t a cool job but it is a very hard and stressful profession. I founded the firm 21 years ago and I couldn’t give higher praise for this bunch, heads down, very diligent, great team spirit…. January is tough with the tax return deadlines but they did it again, smashed every single return we had in, all filed and sorted…. If carlsberg did staff 👌👌👌👌😊😊😊😊

Due to an unexpected issue with our boiler, our office will be closed today. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Job description

We have a position for an experienced practice bookkeeper to join our busy team. The role is offered on a permanent basis.

Working with a busy team with a wide variety of clients, you will take responsibility for:

·Bookkeeping for a variety of clients using various accounting packages including: Xero, Sage, Quickbooks etc
·Completing Vat returns and MTD
·Processing purchase and sales invoices, receipts and payments
·Bank reconciliations and posting bank transactions
·Posting wages journals
·Preparation of management accounts
·Ensuring work is completed in a timely manner and deadlines met
·Liaising with clients in a professional manner
·Visiting clients’ premises on an adhoc basis

You will be joining a friendly team in a long-established and successful accountancy practice. This role offers a competitive salary, 28 days holiday including bank holidays, additional bonus holiday at Christmas, yearly salary reviews, referral program and workplace pension scheme.

Essential Requirements:

·Experience gained in a similar role within accountancy practice (3 years)
·AAT or similar qualified preferred
·Strong organisational and communication skills
·Experience of using a variety of bookeeping softwares.
·Experience in payroll processing would be advantageous but is not essential

Full time hours: 39 per week, Monday to Friday

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Negotiable dependent on experience and qualifications
