This week’s has brought me back to where the idea really started to grow

It all began in the summer when I bought a roll from Rolls & More and posted about it online. Seeing how much support that simple post received got me thinking about the difference we could make just by choosing a local independent.

I decided to do it again with Jay and Gemma at Floral Couture By Jay and it’s grown from there!

This week, I returned to Floral Couture for today’s Dorset Echo article. Thank you to Dorset Echo for helping us spread the word!

I’ve honestly been blown away by the support. Seeing more people join in and the message travel further is inspiring. Who knows how far we can take this?

What an incredible celebration of young talent!

We have some truly amazing young stars across the South and South West, dedicating countless hours to learning their routines, practising their moves and finding the courage to step out onto a stage in front of an audience.

It takes confidence, determination and a whole lot of hard work and every single performer should be incredibly proud!

A special mention to Starlight Dance Studio for their beautiful rendition of A Whole New World. You absolutely smashed it! I couldn’t be prouder of you all!

A huge thank you to all the dance schools, teachers, judges, organisers and of course, the mums, dads and families who spend countless hours supporting these young performers.

It’s your encouragement, dedication and belief that give these little stars the confidence to get up on stage and chase their dreams.

We know there are people out there with brilliant ideas, ambitions and dreams who perhaps just need a little encouragement, some guidance or someone to point them in the right direction.

If giving up a couple of hours of our time and sharing our knowledge for free helps even one person take that first step towards building something of their own, then it's absolutely worth it.

As the saying goes, "You don't have to be great to start but you do have to start to be great!"

What a game!

Thank you Weymouth Football Club for an incredible performance and a thrilling 3–2 win against Sholing in the FA Trophy first round!

I brought my little boy along for his first football match which was a special moment for us both made even better seeing Weymouth take the win!

The atmosphere was electric each time the ball hit the back of the net. We joined in with the chants, clapped to the beat of the drums and shouted “Olé, olé, olé, Weymouth!” together. I’m officially converted to the theatre of the beautiful game!

And I can proudly introduce the Terras’ newest fan… my little boy!

A special thank you to captain Tom Bearwish and top goalscorer Toby Holmes for taking the time after the game to give my little boy a high five because it made his day even more special.

We also bumped into this friendly face who is a proud sponsor of the club! Thank you to Chris at CJ Mortgage Hub Ltd and all the other local sponsors who support the team and help create such a magical atmosphere for the beautiful game.

Thank you to everyone at Weymouth FC for giving us more than a great game, it is a core memory we’ll share for years to come.

This week's goes to Scott at Glitched on Abbotsbury Road!
And this is exactly why I love doing this!

I was driving back to the office when I spotted a new café on Abbotsbury Road and thought, "I must pop in there for this week's ."

And I'm so glad I did!

Not only do they serve beautiful hot drinks, but Scott has also created Weymouth's first Warhammer 40,000 home!

Complete with gaming tables, terrain and features, it's a place for enthusiasts to come together, play and enjoy something they love.
They're just one month into their journey and already going from strength to strength! Open Monday to Saturday, with Thursday night gaming sessions too.

This is exactly what is all about. Discovering the brilliant little businesses on our doorstep, meeting the people behind them and showing them some support.

A small spend can make a big difference.

So whether you're a Warhammer enthusiast or just fancy a decent coffee, pop in and say hello to Scott!

This week’s goes to Bincombe Bumps Pumpkins where we spent a morning pumpkin picking followed by the Spooky Family Zone including a bouncy castle, haunted house and toasted marshmallows!

This week's Lo5 is also about supporting our local farmers.

Farming is a tough gig. Long hours, unpredictable weather, rising costs and a whole lot of hard graft. Events like this provide a fantastic opportunity for local farms to diversify, welcome the community and generate some much needed income. I’m sure Jeremy Clarkson and Kaleb Cooper Clarkson Farm can attest to this.

So if you get the chance, get out there, take the family, pick a pumpkin and show our local farmers some love!
What's Lo5 all about?

The idea is simple. Encourage everyone to spend just £5 a week with a local business.

Weymouth has around 55,000 residents. If every single one of us spent an extra £5 locally each week, that's an incredible £14.3 MILLION a year supporting our local economy!

More money circulating locally.

More jobs supported.
