Sorry… this is a bit of a long one! 😊
This week has been one of reflection.
My eldest has finished infant school, and my youngest has completed their first full year at school. Time really does fly!
It’s also had me reflecting on my business. This time last year, I was working my notice period after 20+ years of employment (I won’t give the exact number… I’d only be showing my age! 😉). I was excited but also apprehensive about what life would look like running my own accounting business.
Fast forward almost a year, and I can honestly say… I’m loving it.
Being self-employed has given me something I never truly appreciated until I had it – flexibility. I can be there for school plays, parent drop-ins, swimming lessons, sports days, and all those little moments that matter. Not only can I be there, but I can be fully present, without feeling guilty for taking time away from work or worrying about making the hours back.
I’m also taking a moment to celebrate my business. It may still be small, but it’s growing in exactly the way I hoped. Over the past few weeks, I’ve welcomed three new clients, and I’m proud to be delivering the personal, supportive service I set out to provide from day one.
To everyone who follows my journey, tags me, likes my posts, comments, or shares them – thank you. Your support genuinely means so much, and every interaction helps my small business reach more people.
Here’s to almost one year in business, and to whatever the future holds. I’m excited for what’s next! ✨
