I get really lost off with all of the different names when it comes to the “Generations”.

But one thing I do know is that the young generations are leaving themselves short when it comes to protection

Very pleased to say that I have completed my first exam towards being a chartered financial adviser in CF8. This exam is all about the planning and considerations for advice for Long Term Care.

I’ve seen plenty of posts lately about reviewing your financial position in the new year. They’re 4 pages long with calculations galore and formatting to turn parts of the page green, red or amber.

Let’s simplify that. 3 questions: A have, A what, and A When:

1. Have you got a big enough emergency fund if something happened out of the blue? Boiler blew up, car needed 4 new tyres etc
2. What would happen if you were off work for an extended period of time or became seriously unwell?
3. When will you be able to retire? This one does need a calculation sadly! Using a compound interest calculator enter your current pot value, add your monthly contributions and 5% interest up to your ideal retirement age.

3 really simple questions to see if you’re covered properly and working towards your retirement.

It’s been a busy week with the budget. But I managed to squeeze in some networking at the fabulous Beamish Museum, at its Christmas best.

I even managed to bag my train obsessed little boy two train prints (and some Cherry Loaf cake for myself!).
