Received a default letter about identity verification?

Your first step should be to verify your identity and give us your personal code before the deadline in your letter. You must provide your personal code separately for each role you hold in the company, such as director and person with significant control (PSC).

A representation is only needed if exceptional circumstances mean you cannot comply before this deadline. Most people won't need to make one.

Companies House requires Directors, People with Significant Control (PSCs), and others filing information to prove their identity.

This can be done using methods like GOV.UK One Login (with a passport/driving license) in order to get a personal code, which links to their role and must be provided within specific deadlines, usually around a 14-day window related to Confirmation Statements or Birth months, to prevent fraud and ensure compliance with UK company law.
