I’m not afraid of a bit of DIY, but as I often say, I’m not an electrician, so I’m not going to guess how to rewire your house.

Some tasks you can do yourself. Others are better handled by an expert.

So if finances, tax, balancing the books, or managing the numbers in your business isn’t your strength, you’ll save time, money and stress by asking for help from an accountant.

We’re always happy to have a friendly chat, so if you need a bit of help, give us a call or drop us a message.

Do you love an experience day? If so, let us know what has been your favourite 👇

One thing people might not know about me is how much I love experience days.

It started when I met Charlie, and since then, we’ve made a real point of trying new things, making memories and having more fun outside of work.

In many ways, that’s exactly what we want for our clients too.

Because running a business can feel heavy when you’re constantly worrying about the numbers, tax, cash flow and what’s coming next.

At AFor, we’re invested in making the experience of running a business feel more manageable and straightforward.

So you have less worry, and, a lot more fun along the way.

Because yes, we’re good with numbers.

But we’re even better with people.

If you are looking for an accountant who understands business is more than numbers, get in touch.

New tax rules came in on 5th April, and if you’re a director paying yourself through dividends, this is one you actually need to pay attention to.

The tax-free dividend allowance has dropped again. What used to be £1,000 is now £500. Which means more of your income is now being taxed, even if you haven’t changed how you pay yourself.

Over the last 10 years, the benefits of taking dividends alongside a director’s salary have been chipped away. It still works, but it’s not as generous as it used to be, and the gap is getting smaller.

This is where a lot of business owners trip up. They set things up once, then leave it running, assuming it’s still the “best” way. Meanwhile, the rules change quietly in the background.

If you’re still paying yourself the same way you were a few years ago, it’s worth reviewing. A small tweak now can make a noticeable difference over the year.

And no, this isn’t about overcomplicating things. It’s about making sure what you’re doing still makes sense.

So instead of leaving you to figure it out on your own, we’re hosting a free, practical masterclass to walk you through it clearly, in plain English, so you know exactly what this means for your business and what you need to do next.
