A few days away in Cornwall was needed!

As a financial planner, I still make money mistakes. Especially when on holiday …

1. Not checking bills. Paid the price for 2 double G&Ts when one on the order was a single.

2. Not planning ahead. No towel taken to the beach today … £35 on a new hooded towel 🙃

3. Buying things I don’t need. An ice cream after a Cornish pasty the size of my head was not necessary for the trek home down the coastal path.

But I’m on holiday so all is forgiven and forgotten after posting this on insta 😅

It was over a year ago I made the leap from nicely paid, employed financial planner to business owner.

There’s been good days and bad. Hoping that like any investment of time and money, it pays off over the long-term!

Pride day today marks the near end of Pride month.

I’ve just checked out the glossary of LGBTQ terms to remind myself of a few definitions. There’s also a great list of 7 ways you can be a LGBTQ+ ally.

How long would your money last if you lost your income?

Only 8% of all adults in the UK have any form of income protection (Mintel).

Income protection is an essential insurance to support your family if you are unable to work for the long-term.

Big names on stage from and sharing their insights.

Interesting takeaways from the modern investor pulse

- 68% think the global stock market will be stronger in a year’s time
- 64% have between 5-50,000 to invest over next 12 months.
- 71% will invest in ETFs in next 6 months.

Some usual investment fluffery, but overall a solid insight into retail investor’s minds.

- our mission to save in March continues …

A reminder that we are targeting a £500 total (£250 per person) spend on food and drink. Currently estimated to be £230 per person by 26th so slightly over, but much improved.

It’s been tough planning … and we failed over a wedding weekend. Life got busy (and we still want to have fun!).

Batch cooking and big roasts are a feature of our plans. Inspired by cookbooks ‘one pan meals’ and ‘money saving meals’.
