🚨 Due to the Met Office forecasting actual or feels like temperatures at zero or below for the next 6 nights, Breckland Council will be activating the Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP). This means that we will make bed spaces available for any verified rough sleepers.

This is likely to last up to and including the night of Sunday 4th January 2026.

We will make a further assessment on Monday 5th January 2026, due to the fluctuation in temperatures being forecast over the next few days. Daily monitoring will take place, and we will update you should this change.

If you are concerned about a rough sleeper, you can report them to us through the national Streetlink website 👉 https://loom.ly/_9eZ2uA.

If you believe they are in any immediate danger, then please call 999.

The consultation will close on the 11 January 2026, make sure you have your say!
