The ChadStone team are all fully back from summer holidays and here is what they have been up to ☀️

We’ve had various team members off at different times this summer. They’ve been making the most of spending time with family, getting away where possible, and enjoying all this sun we’ve been having.

So we thought we’d share a few pictures from what everyone has been up to 🙌

It’s always lovely seeing the team have some well-earned time away and we hope you have all had a wonderful summer too!

Big news for Mol and Whitby this month 🙌

Not only are they celebrating their 7-year work anniversary with us, they are also now formally training to become managers at ChadStone.

Once they are signed off, they will be joining Hannah and Owen as Client Managers, which is a really exciting next step for both of them 🥳

Mol and Whitby both joined us straight from sixth form, so they have grown with ChadStone from the very start of their careers.

Over the last 7 years, they have worked full-time, learned the job from the ground up, supported real clients, handled real deadlines and real responsibility, all while taking around 25 exams each 🤯

What makes this even more special is that they have not just grown in knowledge and experience, but in confidence, responsibility and the way they support our clients and team.

They care about their work, they care about our clients, and they understand the standard we want people to experience when they work with ChadStone.

So, happy 7-year work anniversary Mol and Whitby, and a massive congratulations on this next step 👏

We are very lucky to have you both and can’t wait to see you continue growing into these roles.

We were going to write something useful about the business and finance trends we’re seeing at the moment, but between client work, summer holidays, annual leave, childcare juggling and everyone trying to remember what day it is, we thought we’d keep this one a bit lighter!

We know the summer holidays can be a strange few weeks for businesses. People are away, diaries are all over the place, emails can take a bit longer, and for some local businesses, things can feel quieter than usual.

Need us over the summer holidays? Here’s who’s away and who can help ☀️👇

Over the next few weeks, some of the ChadStone team will be taking well-earned time off with their families, including Sarah and Charl who don’t work during the school holidays.

A few of our team members with children also have holidays booked throughout the summer, so you may see the odd out-of-office reply from your usual contact.

But please don’t worry, there will always be someone in the office who can help (and will update your portal so your account manager knows everything on their return) 👍

So if your usual account manager is away, or you would normally contact Sarah or Charl, another member of the team will be available to point you in the right direction and make sure nothing gets missed.

Basically, ChadStone is not disappearing to the beach all at once 😅

We hope all of our clients, team and local business friends have a lovely summer, whether you’re going away, juggling work and childcare, enjoying a few days out, or just surviving the heat!

And on that note, we’d love some inspiration…

We did it! The ChadStone team completed the 40ft Dragon Boat Race for Severn Hospice (and we actually came 5th overall!!🚣‍♂️🥳)

Most importantly, it was all in aid of Severn Hospice, an incredible local charity providing specialist care and emotional support for people living with an incurable illness across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Mid Wales.

We are so proud to have taken part and even prouder of the amazing support behind us.

A huge thank you to every single one of you in this wonderful community who donated, interacted with our posts, cheered us on, or kindly pretended we looked like we knew what we were doing 🤣

Thanks to this wonderful community, we have raised an incredible total of £2682 (214% of our original target!) for Severn Hospice.

Today we’re shouting about Hannah and for very good reason 🥳

Hannah is one of our Client Managers at ChadStone, which means she looks after clients directly, answers questions, keeps things moving and carries a lot of responsibility for making sure people feel properly looked after.

And she is very good at it.

She understands the work, cares about the standard, and manages client relationships in a way that reflects what we want ChadStone to be known for.

That makes a huge difference to the team, to our clients, and to how the business continues to grow.

We have thanked Hannah in private, but someone this good deserves to be recognised publicly too 👏

What Companies House make out will happen if you don’t verify your identity as a director 🤦 (read below for what the rules are and what to do)

On a serious note, we know a lot of business owners have been receiving emails from Companies House about director identity verification.

And we also know some of those emails mention things like prosecution, fines and legal action, which is not exactly the calmest thing to land in your inbox when you’re just trying to run a business.

So, here is what it actually means👇

This is now a legal requirement for company directors, but it does not need to be scary.

It simply means you need to verify your identity with Companies House and receive your personal code.

That code is then used to confirm your identity when certain filings are made, including your company’s confirmation statement.

In simple terms👇

✅ You need to verify your identity
✅ You need to keep your Companies House personal code safe
✅ Your code will be needed for your company’s next confirmation statement
✅ If all directors are not verified, the confirmation statement cannot be filed properly

This is not something to ignore, but it also does not need to be a panic job.

You can either complete the process yourself through Companies House, or Sarah and Charl can sort it for you for £50 + VAT so you don’t have to think about it.

If you would like us to handle it, we’ll need the right ID and information from you so we can get everything done properly and we will let you know what that is.

So, if you’ve been staring at the Companies House emails thinking “what on earth do they want from me now?” this is your friendly nudge.

Email or call us and we will help you get it sorted 😊

P.S. It doesn’t matter how many companies you are a director of, once you have your code, it will work for all of them.

We’ve nearly doubled our fundraising target for Severn Hospice thanks to you 🥳

Thanks to your amazing support, we have gone from 18% of our target fundraised to 184% - bringing our total money raised for Severn Hospice to £2305 so far 🙌

This has surpassed our original target of £1250 and we cannot thank you enough!
