The new "Bien Immobilier" form which is a new one off requirement for this year has had the filing date extended to 31st July . . . . . but if you own a property then there is a 150 euro potential penalty for non submission

2019 Tax statements are now being sent out - and that should automatically amend any payments on account being debited from your bank

The deadline for submitting French tax returns for the year ended 31st December 2018 has now passed so if you have yet to submit your return you will be charged a "late submission" penalty which increases (as it does in the U.K.) the longer the return remains outstanding.

The website is still open for the next few days for on line submissions but the clock is ticking!

The new system of Tax payments was introduced at the start of 2019 meaning that many Tax payers are making payments in installments towards an estimated liability.
These installments can be amended if you are expecting lower profits or income during the current year

If you’re living in Britain, but receiving income from a holiday rental in France there are changes to the rate of tax you’ll be charged.
Previously 20% for everyone if your rental profits are now higher than €27,519 you will be charged 30%

Yet again the French Tax authorities have lost a test case where it has been accepted by the courts that social charges (the equivalent of national insurance) should not be paid by non resident landlords on rental profits. The logic being that these are payments towards the social security benefits available in France but only for residents. An appeal has been lodged so we will not know the results for a considerable time but if the appeal is rejected then taxpayers should be able to claim a refund of the social charges paid
