Thanks to everyone who came along to our PEACEPLUS Celebration Event in the Derg yesterday. Especially our young performers!!
The Derg Future Festivals project was delivered over the past two years or so. Over 400 people (mainly young) took part in this arts and drama based project.
We couldn’t have done it without Much Ado and CAST who brought in some very famous names and gave local young people a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with some VERY famous West End stars.
Thanks to the Derg Events Committee for working with us and all those who constantly gave their support.
This project would not have happened were it not for PEACEPLUS funding and the Hummingbird team would extend sincere gratitude to the staff team Derry City & Strabane District Council and Special EU Programmes Body - SEUPB for funding this transformative project - It lifted our hearts seeing so much talent.
Onwards and upwards Castlederg.

Well, tomorrow sees the end of another PEACEPLUS project for us.
We hold our celebration event for Derg Future Festivals at Much Ado studios in Castlederg starting at 11am.

This project has brought over 400 people (mainly under 18s) together on amazing drama and performance based activities.

What has been achieved is outstanding & a fine example of everything PEACEPLUS funding is designed to do.

What a great health event today at Derg Valley Care! The crowds were flowing in all day with plenty of opportunities for checks, information & trying a few things out.
We all left feeling better informed & armed with techniques on how to live healthier lives!

About six years ago we started our first Environmental Champions project. Deele & Dennett Anglers were our partners. We are delighted that people who started on that programme are now delivering sessions themselves. This really is amazing work & we are very proud of Deele for taking on their very own Champions of the Environment project funded through . Well done folks!!

What a great final event we had for our PEACEPLUS Farming & Environmental Champions project.
The weather was not the best but that didn’t stop our intrepid champions coming out and trying a variety of activities.
We had wood turning, basket making, outdoor adventures and seed planting.
It was a great wee day and everyone had a ball. We are sorry to see this project come to an end but we look forward to new outdoor and environmental projects in the future.

Thanks to everyone who made this project the success it was, we tried so many different things along the way and had great fun.
We will do a wee montage of photos of that but for now, have a look below for an idea of how things went last week.

Well we’re coming to the end of our PEACEPLUS Farming and Environmental Champions project. We will celebrate our achievements with our closing event which will be held at Silverbrook Mill on Thursday 30th October. Pop along to the site at 11am and try out some willow crafts 🧺 nature trail crafts 🍁 and bug hunts! 🐜 Plus a bowl of stew to warm your cockles! 🍲
This event is open to everyone, it’s free and will be FUN!! 🤩
