I am lucky enough to work with some very talented people. Today is Rob's turn for praise. He has just received his results from his pension income options exam. A distinction. Very well done Rob, all your efforts have paid off.
My team are racking up the qualifications and gaining experience in becoming financial advisers.
Keep up the good work.

New laptop after around 8 years! Just going through the pain of setting everything up again. Not using refresh from the old one as I don't want to transfer over all of the clutter!

I started my business on my own and was joined first by my daughter Georgia, over 7 years ago. We were then joined by Rob, on an apprenticeship in 2022. 18 months ago, my son Blake joined us.
Both Blake and Rob achieved their level 4 qualification this year after much hard work, which continues as adviser training continues.
I now have a team of 3 studying towards their level 6 qualification (and my retirement!)
The studying never stops for any of us as the rules and regulations are constantly shifting and we have to keep on top of how those changes impact our clients.

With the proposed changes to pension death benefits and Inheritance tax fast approaching, what are you going to do? Do you know what your options are? What does it mean for your family?

More good news today as Blake has passed his final module for the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning with a distinction! He is now able to put DipPFS behind his name, along with his BA Hons! Lots of hours of pretty boring/dry studying have produced the desired result.
A huge well done to Blake. We have to get more certificate frames now!
Another important step on his journey to becoming a financial planner.

Just finished fantastic breakfast rolls from the Woolpack. Great value and very tasty. Thanks Craig and team for a great service.

Blake's done it again! This time Blake has passed his pension exam by a clear margin (82%). (This time in the dark as the light was switched off, and he couldn't leave the room to switch it back on!)
Well done and congratulations on achieving the penultimate exam towards your level 4 qualification. Onwards and upwards.

It is great to see my team gaining further qualifications and experience. All good for the long term future of the business.

It struck me today that we have not celebrated our 6 year anniversary in our office! Georgia and I started here in September 2018 and had some enforced time out of the office during the pandemic. Since then our team has grown as has the number of clients we are looking after.
Everyone has needs and they are usually not the same as other people have. This makes our role very interesting as no two days are the same. One of the most satisfying aspects of our work is the ongoing relationships we have with our clients.
My Friday gem for this week is to get a plan for what you want out of the rest of your life. No mean feat, but well worthwhile as knowing what you want, helps you to take the actions required to get you there.
Financial planning helps people achieve their financial goals.
Imagine you had retired today. How would you pay for all the things you need and want to do?
As ever, please contact me, if you would like some help.

Another exam success in the office! This time it is Rob's turn to be the hero of the moment, having just passed his R03 Tax exam. This is another one of the fundamental steps towards his level 4 qualification and covers the tax regime in the UK. He has spent week reading some very dry text and doing exam questions, including tax calculations.

Well done Rob, all of the effort has paid of 2 more to get to level 4.

I am committed to supporting all of those who work with me the right tools to do the best job for our clients.

Next!!!!

Hot of the press! Blake has passed his latest exam. This time it was UK taxation and requires at least 60 hours of study on a subject that is pretty dry! Another step towards his level 4 financial services qualification. Well done Blake, very proud of all of the effort you have put in to pass 4 exams, so far this year.

While I'm on a roll!

I met a chap today who had yet to start his retirement planning. But then he did!

He hasn't yet put anything in place other than a better understanding of some of the options available. We spoke for about what he was hoping to achieve and various ways that he could make a start. We also discussed what that might mean when he has had enough of going to work. The key thing that struck me was how easily we don't do things because we don't have enough knowledge to move us to start making decisions.
After an hour we said our goodbyes, and I would like to think that he will have a better retirement for taking some time now to build a plan.
Anyway far too much waffle from me for one day! But happy to chat, if you want to.
