Anyone looking to enter the player draft 2025 please submit your name to chairman Hamid Sohaib ASAP.

We are looking to finalise how many teams we shall have and have managed to retain 38 players with 7 ready and waiting. We shall look to get as many as possible.

If anyone wants to lead as a captain in the draft he can also ask the chairman about a possible team sponsorship.

EXHIBITION MATCH!!!

PICK OF THE LEAGUE FACED THE CHAMPIONS SUPERKINGS FOR A SEPARATE TROPHY!!!

The trophy remains with the League should the Pick of the league win however a win for Superkings and they bag this as well.

The games nature was friendly and both competed in that way. Superkings gave chance to their various individuals and lost the game by 32 runs.

PICK OF THE LEAGUE keep the trophy for another season.

LEAGUE FINAL
Pedmore Panthers Vs Stourbridge Superkings

Before this game both of these sides had 8 wins in WMISL league games in 2024. With little to separate these sides this was going to be a cracker of a FINAL. Superkings having played one game less (play off/semi).

Toss was won by Superkings and skipper Zeeshan Ahmed had little to no doubt that batting first was the key.

Panthers skipper was delighted as he was unsure what would be the best decision so he accepted to have lost and bowled first.

Nabeel Ali & Zeeshan Ahmed opened up for the Superkings and the first challenge was Shoaib Kaleem. Two wides were bowled and 6 for 0 was accepted by both sides. Second over bowled by Muhammad Kashif where 4 runs were scored off the first four deliveries and then the first massive moment in the game when Zeeshan Ahmed was run out at the non strikers end looking to take a third run. 12 for 1 after 2. Emerging talent Anas Ahmed was brushed aside for a Golden Duck as he failed to take the pressure FINAL situation. Rishabh Siddhu was the wickettaker. Adnan Ali then hit two maximums off the final five deliveries in the third taking the score to 24 for 2 after 3 overs. With the game nicely poised Usama Bilal bought in Abid Cheema and he was hit for two sixes by Nabeel Ali and at the midpoint the score was 36 for 2.

Fifth over was bowled by the Emerging Star Abdullah Zahid as he continued to take wickets, Adnan Ali was removed off the first ball. Enter Baljeet Singh, first ball was hit for a maximum but then he was out thanks to a Bilal Hassan special one hand catch inches from the corner of the hall. Faheem Abbas settled for 2 runs off the final three Abdullah Zahid's deliveries. 44 for 4 after 5 suggested the Panthers have the edge. Powerplay was taken by Superkings and Nabeel Ali hit Bilal for two maximums as the over cost 14 doubled to 28. 72 for 4 after 6 and now the Superkings held the edge. 8 runs off the first five Muhammad Kashif balls but a six to round off by Faheem Abbas and the score was clearly in favour off the Superkings. Shoaib Kaleem returned to remove Nabeel Ali and also a run out in the final over which cost just 2 runs to bring the game back into the mix. Superkings finishing on 88 for 6 from the allotted 8.

Abdullah Zahid was sent in with Bilal Hassan to open the run chase and Superkings started the innings with the nervous Anas Ahmed. Nerves were settled and the over cost 9 runs. Bilal Hassan then took a maximum and six further runs off Faheem Abbas' second over. 21 for 0 after 2. Adnan Ali was a target for the Panthers however his sound day continued when he removed Abdullah Zahid stumped. Adnan Ali also got the prize wicket off Bilal Hassan to peg back the Panthers. 8 runs came off the third and hence score was 29 for 2 after 3. Muhammad Kashif then had to compromise with just 7 runs off Baljeet's fourth. 36 for 2 at the midpoint of the chase.

NOTE EXACTLY SAME SCORES AT THE MIDPOINT OFF BOTH INNINGS.

Faheem Abbas then bowled the fifth over which was negotiated with six runs. Sixth over was double over bowled by skipper Zeeshan Ahmed. 10 runs came off the first which was a no ball (3) and side wall (2) doubled to 10. 37 to win off 19 and next ball was a 2 doubled to 4 followed by two dots. Final two balls had 2 runs doubled to four and a wide which cost 6 (3 x 2). Over going for 24 runs and score at 66 for 2 after 6. 23 to win from the final 12 and the game was there for the takings. Nabeel Ali bowled the penultimate over which went for 11 and also bought the wicket off Muhammad Kashif. 12 off 6 to decide the CHAMPIONS. Zeeshan Ahmed befittingly bowled the last over and Shoaib Kaleem faced, the platinum star Kaleem took two off the first and then left a wide which meant the Panthers needed 8 off 5. Shoaib was then removed and skipper Usama Bilal took strike against his opposite number. Three runs came off the third which left 5 off 3. Rishabh Siddhu then took a further three runs which left 2 off 2. Neutrals would have thought Panthers were favourites to win however Zeeshan Ahmed bowled a great delivery past Usama and the failed bye resulted in Rishabh Siddhu's dismissal. Abid Cheema came in and looked confident however he missed the ball which was initially fumbled by the nerves off keeper Anas Ahmed but he still recovered and managed to run out Usama Bilal. Catching the skipper inches short off what could have been the first Super 3 balls scenario. So a margin off around 6 inches was the difference for the SUPERKINGS.

SUPERKINGS ARE THE CHAMPIONS OFF WMISL2024!!!

One can only hope for 2025 to bring about more competitiveness but we wonder how that can be achieved after such a wonderful and event jam packed season off 2024.

Lye Launchers Vs Dudley Dynamites

Nafees Hussain won the toss and put the Dynamites into bat.

Ghulam Abbas & Hamzah Ishtiaq commenced the batting for Dynamites. Sohail Munir opened the bowling and the first over costing 12 runs, Ghulam picking up another maximum to add to his tally of sixes. Arbaaz Mahmood's second bought the wicket off Hamzah Ishtiaq when he lost his stumps & the over went for just 4. Ghulam Abbas then hit 10 off 2 balls off Adrish Riaz's third but was also removed caught & bowled. One brings two but the moment Waqas Ahmed pulled off a stunning diving left handed catch off Abeer Ahmed the game was half won. Zishan Sohail played out the Hat-trick ball. 29 for 3 after 3 overs. Ahsan Kaleem then cautiously played out the fourth to avoid any further dents. 37 for 3 after 4 at the midpoint. Arbaaz Mahmood then removed Zishan Sohail in the fifth over which cost 6 (2 wides). 43 for 3 after 5 overs. Waqas Ahmed then bowled the double over which went for 13 doubled to 26 and the score shot up to 69 thanks to a few wides. Usman Riaz was dismissed off Nafees Hussain's seventh which resulted in 5 runs and the final over was bowled by Ikram Mussadaq and he removed Ahsan Kaleem Ahmed before Ithnan Ali was run out off the final ball. Dynamites finished on a below par 79. However after the Panthers defended 75 this was not over at this stage.

Waqas Ahmed & Adrish Riaz were the openers, Usman Riaz opened the bowling. Waqas Ahmed was in ruthless form as the first delivery was launched downtown. Statement of intent from the Platinum Pro Star. 20 runs were scored off the first over, Waqas then took 14 off Ahsan Kaleem's second with another maximum to his name. Powerplay over was taken with the score at 34 after 2. Early finish was inevitable. Abeer Ahmed bowled the over which cost 11 (1 maximum = 12) doubled to 22 and suddenly it was 24 to win from 30 balls. Waqas Ahmed reaching his fifty with another maximum and getting their off 18 deliveries. A great player winning the CUP for the Launchers after a real hammering of the Dynamites.

Waqas Ahmed was our Gourmet Peri Peri Man Of The Match for his unbeaten 65 off 27 & taking the Launchers home as CUP Champions in WMISL2024!!!

LEAGUE PLAY OFF OR SEMI FINAL
Pedmore Panthers Vs Dudley Dynamites

With so many games being win toss & bowl first, this toss could have brought a surprise but the Dynamites skipper stood firm on bowling first. Usama Bilal was happy as he would have batted first if he had won the toss with the pressure off a run chase in a do or die situation.

Opening pair Rishabh Siddhu & Bilal Hassan came to the middle for the Panthers and with Rishabh facing skipper Abeer decided to open with Husnain Akhmat. The over was quiet and it cost just 5 runs. Usman Riaz then bowled the second which Bilal Hassan watched cautiously as he wanted to dig deep for a long innings, 6 runs came off the second. Third over was a maiden bowled by Ahsan Kaleem Ahmed who finally decided to go around the wicket. 11 for 0 after 3. First 4 balls off Usman Riaz's fourth over were all dots before Bilal decided to change the gears. Six & a single to take the score to 18 and keep the strike. Zishan Sohail was asked to bowl the fifth which Bilal Hassan took advantage, 20 runs came off with one maximum and a few wides. Bilal again kept a hold off the strike & decided to take the powerplay over as a result. 7 runs were taken off Ahsan Kaleems powerplay over which was doubled to 14 runs. 52 for 0 after 6 overs and Bilal keeping the strike. Skipper Abeer was hit for a maximum by Bilal Hassan to bring up his half century but he was dismissed off the last ball with the score at 64 for 1 after 7. Final over was bowled by Ghulam Abbas which the Dynamites were satisfied with keeping the Panthers to a below par score off 75.

In reply the scores were level at 11 after 2 overs which was seen out by Ghulam Abbas & Hamzah Ishtiaq. Shoaib Kaleem & Muhammad Kashif applying the pressure. Abdullah Zahid bowled a few wides and went for 14 but also bagged the wicket off the leading Runscorer Ghulam Abbas. Skipper Abeer joined Hamzah Ishtiaq and the latter hit a maximum off Muhammad Kashif's fourth to boost the run chase. Score at 34 for 1 after 4 overs with 42 to get off the remaining four overs. Rishabh Siddhu was bought in to bowl against Abeer and skipper welcomed him with a six first ball. Rishabh Siddhu bowled three dots and then got the wicket that the Panther's skipper Usama Bilal was after, Abeer Ahmed stumped by Abid Cheema. Just the 6 off the over piled the pressure on the Dynamites. 36 to win off 18 with flamboyant pair back in the hut. Powerplay over bowled by Bilal Hassan cost just 2 runs which was doubled to 4 but also bought the Panthers the wicket off Hamzah Ishtiaq. Shoaib Kaleem then bowled the 7th which went for just 4 & he cleaned up Ahsan Kaleem Ahmed and the runs required reached 28 off 6 deliveries. Abid Cheema bowled the last over, two dot balls seemed like it was all over however a couple of wides and a couple of maximums by Zishan Sohail knocked the arrears and it was down to 12 off 2 however Abid held his nerve to take the Panthers into a well deserved FINAL.

Bilal Hassan was our Road House Man Of The Match for his unbelievable one hand catch and 54 important runs!!!

Panthers have a doubt over the unpredictable Adeel. Skipper Usama Bilal has had an unbelievable recovery Alhamdulillah & will be participating. They face the Dynamites in the play off. Win it & they will face off against the Superkings.

Dynamites have a full squad raring to go once again. Win in the first game (play off) and winning the final means they play 4 games in the day. The last ball finale last week against the Superkings meant they scraped through. Would they come back and hurt Superkings in the FINAL?

Launchers have a full strength 7 squad available. They face the Dynamites in their only game off the day. They lost against the Dynamites last week. Will that loss play on their minds?

Stourbridge Superkings Vs Dudley Dynamites

The equation was simple, a win for Dynamites and they face Panthers in the play off however if they come up short then Launchers will face the Panthers.

Toss was won by Superkings who wanted to bat first.

Zeeshan Ahmed bought Farhan Rauf with him to open the innings. Surprised Launchers?
Usman Riaz's first cost 9 runs and Farhan Rauf was again caught short off the crease. Zishan Sohail then removed Zeeshan Ahmed & Zulqurnain Shabbir in the second over and pegged back the Superkings to 13 for 3 after two overs. Usman Riaz was bought back in the third and he repaid the faith with the removal off Nabeel Ali. 18 for 4 after three overs and the Launchers dugout not impressed. Husnain Akhmat bowled the fourth over and when he removed Baljeet Singh the game seemed to be heading one way. Adnan Ali hitting a maximum off the final ball off the fourth. 29 for 5 at the midpoint. Powerplay over was taken and Faheem Abbas launched Abeer Ahmed downtown and followed it up with two doubles to take 10 off the over doubled to 20. Only 4 runs came off the Ahsan Kaleem over. Skipper Abeer returned much to everyone's surprise as that meant Ahsan Kaleem would only ball one over. Abeer was hit for a six and a four and cost 16. 69 for 5 after seven overs. Ghulam Abbas was then hit over his head for two maximums from the last two deliveries by younger brother Faheem Abbas who bought up a well deserved half century. Superkings finished on a par score off 88 for 5.

Ghulam Abbas & Hamzah Ishtiaq opened the innings for the Dynamites. Faheem Abbas opened the bowling and went for 8 runs. Zeeshan Ahmed was hit for 6 runs in the second over before the Powerplay over was taken. 11 runs came off the double over which doubled to 22. Score at 36 for 0 after three overs. Anas Ahmed's fourth was hit for 2 maximums by Ghulam Abbas and he cost 14 runs. 50 for 0 meants 39 to win from 24 deliveries. 12 runs came off Nabeel Ali's over which reduced the arrears. 27 to win from the final three overs. Zeeshan Ahmed's over went for 13 including a maximum by Ghulam Abbas who went past yet another fifty. Faheem Abbas returned to turn the tables as Ghulam Abbas was run out off the first, followed by Hamzah Ishtiaq being caught and bowled, followed by the removal of Ahsan Kaleem Ahmed and finally Zishan Sohail off the final ball. Only 2 runs were scored and suddenly 12 were needed from the last over. Adnan Ali was handed the responsibility to defend 12 and help the Launchers into the next round, skipper Abeer Ahmed stood in the way. First ball maximum, followed by a wide meant the Dynamites needed 4 from 5. Two dot balls were bowled and a double was taken before another dot. Leaving 2 to win from the final ball. When Abeer Ahmed struck the final ball no one could imagine the ball ending up on the side wall off the foot off the bowler Adnan Ali and the Dynamites celebrated like they did in the CUP round. This time to the frustration off Launchers who are now knocked out off the league on NRR.
