🚨 Attention Council Tenants! 🚨

Big changes are coming to the Right to Buy scheme! Starting 21st November 2024, the discounts you can get on your council home will drop significantly in England.

👉🏼 Right to Buy lets most council tenants in England purchase their council home at a discount.

👉🏼 If your council sold your home to another landlord (like a housing association), you may have the ‘Preserved Right to Buy’!

💰 Discount rates:

🏠 Houses:
• 35% discount (3–5 years as a tenant)
• +1% per additional year (up to 70% or your region’s cap)

🏢 Flats:
• 50% discount (3–5 years as a tenant)
• +2% per additional year (up to 70% or your region’s cap)

📍 Current maximum discount:

• London: £136,400
• Rest of England: £102,400

📍 Maximum discount from 21st November 2024:

• North East: £22,000
• North West: £26,000
• Yorkshire and Humber: £24,000
• East Midlands: £24,000
• West Midlands: £26,000
• Eastern: £34,000
• London: £16,000 / £38,000
• South East: £38,000 / £16,000
• South West: £30,000

Apply Before 21st November 2024 to secure higher discounts!

• Fill in the Right to Buy application form (RTB1 notice).

• Send it to your landlord or visit local housing office.

• You have 12 weeks after you get an offer to tell the council you still want to buy.

⏰ If you’re thinking of buying your council home, now is the time to act! Don’t miss out on the higher discounts available before the deadline.
