🚨 Attention Company Directors and PSCs 🚨
From November 18, 2025, it will be a legal requirement for all company directors and persons with significant control (PSCs) to verify their identity with Companies House under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023. This initiative is part of a broader effort to prevent the misuse of UK companies.
What You Need to Do:
1. Verify Your Identity: Use the Companies House “Verify your identity” service via GOV.UK One Login.
2. Receive Your Unique Personal Code: This one-off code must be kept secure, as it is valid for all companies where you hold a role.
3. Share the Code with your agent, so they can continue to file for you with Companies House.
Important Reminders:
- Without this code, your Confirmation Statement will not be accepted.
- All directors must be verified before any Confirmation Statement due after November 18, 2025.
- Choose your GOV.UK One Login email carefully, as it will be crucial for future access.
- Ensure your personal details match those in Companies House records, or verification may fail.
- Directors of multiple companies only need to verify once but must use the same code for each entity.
