Never give up on your dreams!✨️

Here's my story of how I got here;

I finished school in 2013 and had no clue what I wanted to do. At the time I liked doing makeup so I decided to go to college to study makeup and massage. I completed all my qualifications and became a qualified MUA and massage therapist.

I decided I liked doing epilation so I went on to study electrical epilation and skin and became qualified in providing those services too.

I went into a retail job in June 2015, but I wanted to do something different - I started doing more admin and financial tasks and realised that I have always loved the idea of working in a financial role.

In September 2016 I took the plunge and enrolled in university to study accounting, whilst still working full time.

I then went on to start my AAT qualification and began from Bookkeeping, all the way up to the Professional Diploma.

6 years later and I am fully qualified with AAT and starting on the next chapter. (Still undecided between ACCA or CIMA but I'll get there!)

I work full time in Management Accounts whilst working on my little business and I am SO greatful for the opportunities that I have been blessed with over the past few years.

It's the reason that I am so passionate about helping small businesses, because I know that it can be overwhelming and a huge minefield while starting up yourself. Don't give up, adjust your time frames, adjust your goals but never change your dream 🌟

You WILL get that qualification and you WILL become a successful accountant 🙌

Making Tax Digital; what's it all about and what does it mean for your business?

▪️MTD is a significant government initiative who's main purpose is to make it easier for sole traders and businesses to deal with tax

▪️Almost full digitalisation of the UK tax system will be introduced

▪️Sole traders and businesses must be using software and apps to keep all records and report tax details to HMRC

▪️From April 2024, all self-employed businesses owners must report income tax and keep accounts up to date using MTD

▪️You will be required to keep digital records, provide digital quarterly updates and provide your self assessment return to HMRC via MTD compatible software

If you are confused about what this means for you, don't hesitate to contact me today. All my current clients have been set up to be complaint for MTD so that the transition runs smoothly!

Over the last couple of months I have loved chatting to clients about business needs and what they want to achieve.

I believe that value from accountants and bookkeepers isn't just in the work, but being avaliable to have a open discussion where we can break down so many things that go into your finances.

Some recent feedback -

"Thank you Katie, I am so glad to be working with you. Its really not my forte and I never really understood but thank you for making sure to explain it all to me"

And that kind of feedback is exactly why I love doing what I do ✨️✨️
