One of the most common things I hear from people before we meet is:

“I don’t really understand any of this…”

And that’s completely normal.

Good financial advice shouldn’t feel confusing or overwhelming it should feel clear, simple and tailored to you.

This feedback meant a lot:

“Very helpful and explained everything until we understood completely. Made us feel relaxed. Nothing was rushed or too much trouble. Highly recommend.”

For me, it’s not about rushing decisions or overcomplicating things; it’s about making sure you fully understand where you stand and what your options are.

Really proud to be included in the VouchedFor Top Rated Financial Adviser Guide 2026 📈 📰

This guide has been distributed in The Times and is based entirely on client feedback, so big thank you to everyone who has supported me, it genuinely means a lot!

What’s interesting is, most people I’ve helped didn’t come to me looking for big changes…

They just wanted to understand if they were doing the right things financially - whether that’s pensions, savings or just knowing where they stand.

Sometimes the outcome is making changes.
Sometimes it’s simply clarity and confidence.

Most people I speak to aren’t looking to make big changes…

They just want to know:
• are my pensions actually in the right place?
• is my money doing what it should be?
• am I missing anything important?

I had a meeting recently where nothing needed to change; it was simply about going through everything and making sure it all made sense.

This feedback meant a lot:

“Rhys came across very professional and someone I could trust. He explained everything in a way I understood and I was very happy with the information he provided. I would definitely recommend his services.”

Sometimes the biggest value isn’t changing anything; it’s just knowing you’re on the right track.

It’s surprising how many people haven’t had things properly looked at in years, some decades!

Time for a financial spring clean? 🌱

I’ve been speaking to a lot of people recently who have old pensions, savings accounts, and paperwork spread across different places and aren’t completely sure what they have or how it’s performing.

There’s a concept called “death cleaning” (slightly morbid name 😅), but it’s really about getting everything organised and making life simpler, both for you and for the people around you.

A little bit of planning today can make things a lot clearer for the future.

Really nice feedback from a client recently 🙏

She came to me because, like many self-employed people, she realised she didn’t actually have a pension in place and wasn’t sure if what she was doing financially was enough for the future.

After sitting down together, we built a simple plan around pensions, savings and investing so she now feels much more confident about where she’s heading financially.

Her feedback meant a lot:
“Rhys explained everything clearly and helped me feel much more confident about my financial future.”

If you’re unsure whether you’re doing the right things financially, or would simply like a free, no-obligation financial review, feel free to drop me a message.

I’m trying to grow my local business this year and really appreciate all the support so far.

A small thank you for referrals 🤝

Most of my work as a financial adviser comes from word of mouth, which I’m incredibly grateful for.

Many of the people I speak to say things like:
• “I’ve got a few pensions but no idea if they’re on track.”
• “I’ve got savings sitting in the bank, but don’t know if they’re in the right place.”
• “I’m approaching retirement and want to make sure everything is organised.”

If you know a friend, family member or colleague who might benefit from a conversation about their finances, feel free to introduce us.

There’s no pressure and no obligation, just a friendly chat to see if I can help them understand their options.

As a small thank you, if someone you introduce goes on to become a client, I’ll send you a £50 gift voucher.

I’m always happy to help people locally who just want clarity and peace of mind about their finances.

From April 2026, the UK State Pension age will start rising from 66 to 67, with the change phased in until April 2028.

This means many people will have to wait longer before they can claim their State Pension, increasing the years they need to work or save.

The State Pension is relatively modest, and eligibility rules can change, so it’s important not to rely solely on it in retirement. Having other pension provision – such as workplace, personal or private pensions – helps ensure you have enough income, greater flexibility and financial security in later life.

As the 2025/26 tax year draws to a close, now is the time to review how effectively you’re using available allowances.

You might want to make some pension contributions, use your Capital Gains Tax (CGT) or Dividend Allowance; maybe maximise your investments using tax-efficient vehicles, including Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs).

There’s not long until the end of the tax year (5 April 2026), so let’s get organised!

Leaving it all until the last minute can mean missed opportunities, while early planning creates flexibility and control.

Recent Budget announcements and upcoming tax changes make proactive planning even more important. Frozen thresholds, changes to pension taxation and rising dividend taxes mean many households could face higher tax bills without careful preparation.

Tax rules can change, and the impact of taxation and any tax relief depends on your circumstances, including where you live.

⭐️ A little milestone I’m really proud of… ⭐️

I’ve recently been recognised as a Top Rated Adviser for 2026, and honestly, this one means a lot because it’s based on real feedback from real people I’ve helped.

When I started building my local financial planning business, my goal was simple: make financial advice feel clear, human and approachable, not complicated or intimidating.

Most people I meet aren’t financial experts (and don’t want to be). They just want to know things like:

• Am I doing the right thing with my pension?
• I’m self-employed… where do I even start?
• Are my savings just sitting there doing nothing?
• Am I actually on track for the future?

If you’ve ever asked yourself one of those questions, you’re definitely not alone.

I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has trusted me so far. Your support, reviews and recommendations are what made this possible 🙏

And if you’re reading this and have been quietly wondering whether you should get some advice… this is your sign to at least have a conversation.

No pressure, no hard sell, just a friendly chat to see where you are and what’s possible.

Feel free to drop me a message or comment below 👋
(And if you know someone who’s been meaning to sort their finances out, feel free to tag or share, it really helps a local business like mine.)

Thank you again, everyone!

A lot of people think financial planning is just about pensions and investments, but in reality it’s often about helping people feel more comfortable, confident and less stressed about their money whether they’re approaching retirement or simply unsure if things are on track.

It’s not always about chasing the highest return. Often it’s about clarity, reassurance, and understanding how all the pieces fit together over time.

I’m always happy to have general conversations with people locally who want to better understand their current position and how financial planning can support their long-term goals.

Really pleased to share that I’m sponsoring the Canons Brook Golf Club - Essex annual brochure this year ⛳️

As a local financial adviser, it means a lot to be able to support a club that’s such a big part of the community. I’ll be around from time to time, so if you see me, feel free to say hello and grab a coffee ☕️

Big thanks to Cannons Brook for the opportunity really looking forward to being involved.
