You might have heard that tax free milage rates have changed 🚗⁠

The rates, pre-April 2026, were put in place back in 2011, so this increase is the first in over ten years. ⁠

For those of you playing spot the difference on the charts the new milage rates for cars & vans is 55p, a 10p increase, which will be backdated to April 2026.

HMRC has said applicable UK businesses need to start applying now for the Va**ng Products Duty and Va**ng Duty Stamps. ⁠

From 1 October 2026, va**ng duty stamps must be attached to individual va**ng products sold or supplied in the UK. All va**ng products released for public sale by suppliers and manufacturers must bear a duty stamp.
⁠
Retailers can sell any unstamped stock they already hold, until 31 March 2027, but any new duty-liable stock purchased must have a duty stamp.⁠
⁠
Registering and applying for the relevant approvals can take at least 45 working days if further information is needed. So businesses are urged to prepare now ahead of October.

Almost 400 employers have been named for failing to pay the national minimum wage. Around 60,000 employees collectively missed out on £7.3 million! ⁠
⁠
The findings come alongside enforcement action against businesses failing to pay their staff the legal National Minimum Wage.⁠
⁠
Now, the named employers will have to make up for the underpayments and pay penalties totalling £12.3 million!
