A brilliant spot by Aaron this week.

A client had been invoicing through their CRM system, but their bank hadn’t been fully reconciled against the sales invoices.

While booking in the accounts, Aaron matched the sales invoices to bank receipts and noticed one invoice from December 2025 was still unpaid. The client queried it with their customer, who realised they had missed it too.

The result? £1,542 now recovered that the client was completely unaware was outstanding.

A great reminder that regular bookkeeping and bank reconciliation can do more than keep things tidy - they can uncover real cash. 💷👏

As of 6 April 2026, the approved mileage rate for cars and vans is now 55p per mile for the first 10,000 business miles.

This applies to business journeys in your own vehicle - not your normal commute.
