In her Spring Statement yesterday, Chancellor Rachel Reeves did not make any tax related announcements, confirming her commitment to keep to one fiscal event annually (the Autumn Budget).

Click on the link below to download a copy of GMcG's 13-page summary document which details forthcoming tax-related changes that had been set out previously by the Chancellor, including the December 2025 increase of the proposed Inheritance Tax 100% relief threshold for Agricultural and Business Property to £2.5M.

We're delighted to announce that GMcG's 2026 charity partner is Cancer Focus Northern Ireland!

For over 50 years Cancer Focus NI has positively impacted the lives of local people affected by cancer. With the majority of its work funded through donations and fundraising, the charity aims to embed its services into communities across Northern Ireland, seeking to meet the needs of local cancer patients in the towns and cities where they live.

GMcG’s decision to partner with Cancer Focus NI was the result of a voting and selection process across firm’s Belfast, Lisburn and Portadown offices. This approach is adopted by the firm each year to ensure the charity partner is always the choice of employees.

Cancer Focus NI plays such an important role in supporting local people on their cancer journey and we are really looking forward to working with their fundraising team to support the work of the charity during the year.

To read more about the new partnership, and some of the fundraising activities we have lined up, check out our full story at the link below.

This includes details of how our Director team is really stepping up to the plate for this year's major fundraiser - a Jailbreak Challenge! We have no doubt that clients, colleagues and contacts of the firm will be more than impressed and we are very excited at the thought of launching the publicity campaign later in the year!

GMcG Chartered Accountants is proud to announce that its 2025 charity partner, Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke (NICHS), has received a £16,000 donation following an outstanding year of fundraising by GMcG employees.

Susan Dunlop, GMcG Managing Director, commented on the record donation from the firm:

“This is an incredible amount to have raised and testament to the charity that so many people dug deep for such a worthy cause. We were genuinely overwhelmed with the level of support from clients, colleagues and contacts of the firm. The fundraising was also the result of hard work and creativity from many of our employees who organised and participated in a range of activities, from marathon running and bake sales to a Mourne Mountain Trek and a Firewalk Challenge.

We would once again like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank everyone who participated and of course the many clients and friends of the firm who donated so generously during the year”.
