The governments new Kickstarter program means you can cover the costs of a new hire for up to 25 hours a week for 6 months and £1500 for setup costs!

A fantastic opportunity to grow your business, but there’s a catch (and solution.) Your company needs to hire 30 employees, making this unviable for many small businesses. Unless you can partner up with other companies to meet the minimum qualifying hires.

New Jobs Support Scheme!!

Where the government will “directly support” the wages of employees in part-time work. 💴

The schemes running for six months starting this November, preserving “viable” jobs by subsidising the pay of employees who work a minimum of 33% of their average hours. For the remaining hours not worked, the government and the firm will pay a third of the wages each.

Employees will receive a minimum of 77% of their wage under the scheme.

In addition there will be a ‘Pay as You Grow’ loans scheme, that will see bounce back loans extended from six to ten years. Firms will be able to make interest-only repayments, without affecting credit.

Business interruption loans will also be extended for up to ten years.

In addition, there will be an extension of the self-employed grant, and it will be extended on similarly to the new Jobs Support Scheme.

It was also announced that the 5% VAT rate for the hospitality and tourism sector would now remain until March 2021.

The VAT rate for both industries was initially set to rise back to 20% in January.
