🚨Important Update - VAT🚨
Yesterday, the Chancellor announced a temporary reduction to VAT to certain services to encourage cheaper family days out. From 25 June - 1 September 2026, VAT will temporarily reduce from 20% to 5% on:

🎯Children's restaurant meals.

🎯Child and family tickets for cinemas, theatres, concerts, shows and exhibitions.

🎯Child and adult admission tickets for attractions including: amusement parks, fairs, museums, zoos, soft play centres, circuses, adventure parks, nature reserves, wildlife parks and observation decks.

🚨Important Update🚨
The Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, announced yesterday that HMRC's approved mileage allowance payment has increased from 45p to 55p per mile, for the first 10,000 driven in the tax year.

This change has been backdated to April 2026, please review any mileage payments since then and rectify any underpayments.

The rate of 25p for 10,000+ miles has remained unchanged.

Tough day at the office today for our Pink team with 4 losses and 1 draw. We are still 7th in the league. Nothing was going to plan today but we look forward to the final league day in May.

Blacks had a better day today with 3 wins and 2 losses scoring 4 goals along the way thanks to Demi x 3 and Gay Nik x1 sitting 4th in the league.

Please verify email addresses with any correspondace received from HMRC, as you can see, this one has a spelling mistake and actually says HMRE!

𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐚𝐰 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬, 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔
There are some big employment law changes coming in from April 2026.

The headlines include:
•𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲-𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞: Paternity leave, unpaid parental leave, and statutory sick pay (SSP) become "day one" rights, removing previous service requirements. The eligibility threshold for SSP will also be removed.
•𝐏𝐚𝐲 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬: Statutory pay for maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental, and bereavement leave increases to £194.32 per week.
•"𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐞" 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔):Stricter regulations make it harder for employers to change contracts by dismissing and re-engaging staff.
•𝐒𝐞𝐱𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐎𝐜𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔): A new legal duty requires employers to take "all reasonable steps" to prevent sexual harassment, including from third parties.
•𝐙𝐞𝐫𝐨-𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬: Workers on zero-hours or low-hour contracts must be offered guaranteed hours based on a 12-week reference period.
•𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲: A new agency will be established to enforce holiday pay and sick pay rules.
•𝐅𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: The right to request flexible working becomes stronger, aiming for it to be the default starting point
