🚨 The Bank Holiday is over… which means we all need a little fun getting back into work mode 😅
(Well… those of us that actually had the time off 👀)

So here’s this week’s office debate…

Does a straw have one hole… or two? 🥤
👍 One hole
❤️ Two holes

Mathematically (Topology): A straw is considered to have 1 hole. Topologists view it similarly to a ring or a doughnut—it’s a single cylinder with an empty space running through it.

Everyday Logic: It has 2 holes—an entry hole at the top and an exit hole at the bottom. If you plug either end, liquid stops flowing

No Googling. No essays. Just vibes and arguments 😂👇

At this point these debates are raising more questions than answers 😅

🚗 BUSINESS MILEAGE ALLOWANCE INCREASED 🚗

After being frozen since 2011, the tax-free mileage allowance for employees using their own car for work is increasing from 45p to 55p per mile for the first 10,000 business miles — and it’s being backdated to April 2026.

This could make a real difference for:

✅ Care workers
✅ Sales reps
✅ Tradespeople
✅ Mobile staff
✅ Small business owners using personal vehicles for work

A lot of people don’t realise this either…

👉 If your employer pays LESS than the approved mileage rate, you may be able to claim tax relief on the difference through HMRC.

With fuel, insurance, servicing and general running costs all increasing over recent years, this is a welcome update for working people and businesses alike.

If you're unsure how this affects your business, payroll, expenses, or personal tax position, it may be worth reviewing your mileage policy sooner rather than later.

💷 An extra payslip at the end of every month
OR
🏠 No bills to pay ever again?

Simple question you would think… but we know people are going to overthink this one 😂

Extra payslip = more money but you still manage bills
No bills = freedom from constant monthly pressure
