📢 Heads up! National Living Wage & Minimum Wage rates are changing on 1 April.

The rates for the National Living Wage (for those aged 21 and over) and the National Minimum Wage (for those of at least school leaving age) will increase on 1 April.

Also, apprentices are entitled to the apprentice rate if they’re under 19 years old, OR aged 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship.

Tax Return Update!!

If you’re struggling to make the payment, it’s definitely worth contacting HMRC to set up a payment plan. A plan will stop the penalties, but interest will still keep ticking along until everything’s cleared.

INCREASE IN THE NATIONAL MINIMUM WAGE

EFFECTIVE FROM 1 OCTOBER 2016

The National Minimum Wage rates will increase on 1 October 2016 as follows:-

1. Workers aged 21 to 24 are entitled to £6.95 an hour (Rate to 30 September 2016 is £6.70/hr)

2. Workers aged between 18 and 20 are entitled to £5.55 an hour (rate to 30 September 2016 is £5.30/hr)

3. Young workers rate for workers aged 16 to 17 are entitled to £4.00 an hour (rate to 30 September 2016 is £3.87/hr)

4. Apprentices under 19, or over 19 and in the first year of the apprenticeship are entitled to £3.40 an hour (rate to 30 September 2016 is £3.30/hr)

5. National Living Wage which came into effect on 1st April 2016 for workers aged 25 and over remains the same at £7.20 an hour.
