A married WOMAN’S income was simply part of her husbands income

And was taxed as such

UNTIL 1990 😱

Until the independent taxation was introduced in 1990

This effectively meant that prior to 1990 if any married woman had income that she hadn’t told her husband about.

No matter the legitimacy of the source

She could be effectively defrauding the taxman.

Imagine the intergenerational damage this caused.

And we won’t even go into coercive control

Women have been systematically excluded from the financial system

It denied married women independence and privacy in tax & financial matters.

And this principle underpinned the tax system for nearly 200 years !

We need to continue to move mountains.

And encourage open conversations about money

We ALL have the right to financial fairness. ✨

Falling in love with cooking at home!

I’m at the point now where my standards for eating out are SO HIGH because once you get good at cooking, there’s truly nothing better than eating at home 🍲

My partner Alex made this soup for dinner one night last week, and how good does this look?!

I love to talk about ISAs, tax efficiencies, diversification, yes…but one of my favourite financially savvy tips is get good at cooking! 😄 I much prefer eating at home because you can curate your food exactly how you like it.

Then every spring and autumn
(sometimes more to keep us on our toes)🫠

the government decides to rearrange all the organs around and change how they work. 🫀

Annouced in the Commons on a lunch break with loads of people cheering ( I still dont understand the cheering that happens) 🗣️

In the very next appointment, your patients are asking what it all means for them. ✨

Choose rest as a strategy, not a last resort. 🫶

If you’ve noticed my silence lately… again… I know, I feel like a broken record. 🎵

But last week was particularly hard, and I needed to step back.🥺

A client died suddenly, and it really got to me.💔

Yes, I have peace knowing their family is financially secure. 💫

But this work isn’t just about numbers.

I build long-term, deep relationships with my clients.✨

So when I lose someone, I’m not just losing a client—I loose someone I truly cared about. 💛

It hit me hard.

And it reminded me why I do this work in the first place.

Financial security isn’t just about wealth🤝

It’s about protecting the people we love, even when life throws the unimaginable at us. 🔰

I talk all the time about financial security, building wealth, and creating a future where you have options.

But It all comes with BALANCE. ⚖️

I’m glad I gave myself time and space last week.

Don’t wait until you’re running on empty to give yourself permission to rest.🙌

Schedule it. Prioritise it. Treat it like the investment it is.✅

More people in the UK insure their pets than themselves? 😳

Yep, you read that right! 🐾

According to recent stats, 40% of pet owners have pet insurance. 💸

But only 14% of people have income protection insurance. 😲

So here’s the question: Do we value our pets’ lives more than our own? 🤔

After all it’s our income which pays for the pet insurance. So it should be a priority. 👀

As much as we all love our pets, it’s surprising that we’re more likely to insure them than protect ourselves financially if something goes wrong. 🐶

Protecting your income could be the safety net that helps you keep things running smoothly ✨

Oh and if you get some with work - great.

But how long do they pay you ? 🧐

And if it’s Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), a mere £109.40 per week it doesn’t pay for much these days . 🫠

We protect our pets, but are we overlooking the most important asset – ourselves?

If you haven’t considered income protection, now might be the time. It’s an easy way to ensure you and your loved ones stay secure, no matter what life throws your way. 🛡️

👀 What you actually DO with the money you make matters MORE than the amount of money you make.

Let that one sink in 🧐

✅My highest income clients
❌ Do not have the most in investments

✅My clients with the largest amount of assets
❌Do not have the highest amount of liquid assets

✅My client with the highest business turnover
❌Is not the most profitable

✅My client with the most disposable income
❌do not save / invest the most each month

BUT

✨My client with the most invested
✅IS The client I’ve been working with the longest and investing for 20+ years.
✅IS the most consistent / disciplined
✅IS in it for the long term.

💭Remember

There are a lot of people making a LOT of money but living pay check to pay check.

💫 Make YOUR money work harder for you and YOUR goals and priorities .

🪄 Your magic number is unique to you.

But for me? I crave space. ✨

It’s easy to make time in the day. ⏰

Wake up earlier.
Block out an hour.
Reschedule a meeting.

But unless you have space, your mind is still cluttered. 🧠

Thinking about the next task.�Juggling a million thoughts.�Half-working, half-distracted.

Space lets you switch off properly.

And that’s when the best ideas flow. 💡

Not when you’re forcing it. But when you finally have room to think.

50 years back … was either in our lifetime or our parents. 👀

Yet just over 50 years ago, women couldn’t open a bank account on their own.🤯

One generation. That’s all.😳

Before 1975, a woman needed a man’s countersignature to open her own bank account!🙄

And yes, we were able to land on the moon BEFORE then ! 🧑‍🚀

even today, women are told they’re “not good with money.” 😤

Which is not true !

previously, We weren’t allowed to be.😶

But this is why I’m here to help re-write the narrative.

That’s why I’m so passionate about helping women become financially confident and secure.💪

& why most of my clients are exactly that, independent, ambitious and driven women✨

Because money isn’t just numbers it’s freedom

And more importantly CHOICE . 💫

Women before us fought for basic financial rights—we owe it to them

And now, ourselves, to take control.🙌

I have the answer and it’s really simple…

Pay into your Pension! 💡

By simply putting money into a pension, you can instantly boost your savings by at least 20% from day one? 🎯

It’s all thanks to tax relief. 🙌

when you contribute to your pension, the government adds a bonus to your savings through tax relief.✨

For example, if you put in £400, the government adds another £100. That means you’ve got £500 in your pension straight away. 🤑

That's 20% more without lifting a finger! 🙌

what’s even better? Over time, your pension grows, and that 20% bonus adds up to something much bigger as the years go by. 💸

It’s a powerful way to secure your future 💫

One day or day one , you decide. 👀

Ask the wealthiest investors and three common words they say are; discipline , consistency and automatisation. ✨

Starting can be the biggest hurdle, don’t be your own worst enemy. 🙃

Here’s one for you ( stick with me ) ⬇️

Who will have more saved at age 60 ⁉️

Client A. who is 40 and starts saving £500pm.

Client B. who’s is 27 and thinking about saving £300pm.

……

🧮 Now you’ve probably already given up thinking too much maths for a Wednesday morning ?

But really the answer is in the words ! 👀

The answer is client A ‼️

Why ? 🤔

Because they’ve taken ACTION

They’ve start to automise their savings through a direct debit ( automatisation is key 🔑)

And they are savings for their future self. 🏝️

If you did do the maths ( well done ) 👏🏼

And in fact

Client B should have had more at 60 , due to compound interest 🙌🏼, IF they had taken action
( assuming same level of growth per annum)

BUT

they’re still thinking about it at 59 and wanted to retire yesterday 👀

Moral of the story don’t be like client B

TAKE ACTION, your future self will thank you for it ! ⏭️
