Great article by Wattsford Commercial Finance on acquiring your own premises. Although start up loans cannot be used for the purchase of property they can be used to pay rent and to furbish premises.

For more information on start up loans get in touch and if you're thinking about buying premises our sister brand Wattsford Commercial Finance may be able to help.

A sharp increase in commercial property sales is expected with SMEs looking to acquire their premises rather than rent. Rising business costs, including rent and associated charges, are driving business owners to buy their properties and acquire a freehold asset, rather than navigate a fluctuating rental market and uncertainty of tenure.

Wattsford Commercial Finance has released an interesting post on today's interest rate hike by the Bank of England.

The Bank of England has today raised the base rate to 1.25%.
Although this continues to remain historically low, it would appear that interest rates will continue to climb as the Bank tries to reign in inflation which is now predicted to be circa the 11% mark by October.
What does this mean for landlords and commercial property owners, those that are on a fixed rate now are protected for the time being.
If you're on a variable rate or are coming towards the end of a fixed term, it may be prudent to review your options now. At Wattsford Commercial Finance, we've made this as easy as possible with our Indicative Rates Request forms.
No one knows where interest rates will be by the end of the year, save to say that if interest rates continue to climb at 0.25% per month, we'll be looking at a base rate of 2.75%. On the bright side back in 2007, the base rate was circa 5.5%.
