We don't speak accountantese, we're normal people just like you and we always welcome clients in for a tea, coffee or bottle of posh water. We're not your normal accounting practice, we wear jeans and T shirts, we relax on big bean bags or the comfy sofa and we enjoy our work, but at the same time we take the job serious and we get the job done. You built this business to be free.

Now you’re the first one in, last one out, answering messages at 10pm, weekends included. You can’t take a day off without it falling apart. You can’t switch off because there’s always something that only you can do.

You’re proud, but you’re also exhausted.

And the hardest part? You can’t tell anyone, because everyone looks at you and says “you’ve got it all”.

I know that feeling. I’ve lived it... Running two businesses, carrying every plate, convinced if I let go I’d lose everything.

What I learned changed everything:

Your business shouldn’t need your physical presence to survive. It should run because you built it well, not because you’re holding it up.

That shift isn’t about working harder. It’s about working differently. And I can show you how.

Been a while since we’ve posted on here, we’ve been busy behind the scenes helping businesses grow, improve, and make better decisions.

One thing I’ve noticed time and time again is that successful businesses rarely grow by accident.

The businesses that move forward are usually the ones that:
1. Know their numbers
2. Understand their customers
3. Adapt quicker than their competition
4. Stop wasting time on things that don’t create results.
5. Have a clear plan instead of just hoping for the best

Growth isn’t about working 80-hour weeks and doing everything yourself. It’s about making smarter decisions, creating systems, and focusing your energy where it actually makes a difference.

A simple question I ask business owners is:

“If your business doubled tomorrow, could you handle it?”

If the answer is no, the goal isn’t just more sales, the goal is building a business that can cope with success.

Keep learning. Keep improving. Keep challenging what you’ve always done.

The businesses that stay curious are usually the ones that stay ahead.

Just a quick reminder that Dawn and I will be out of the office and will be back on 7th May 🌴

We mentioned this last week in an email, but wanted to pop another note out so it’s fresh in everyone’s mind. Sophia will be holding the fort on a skeleton basis, so if anything urgent crops up, she’ll be there to help.

Thanks for your patience while we’re away, we’ll pick everything up as soon as we’re back 👍

📢 Just a quick heads-up!

We’ll be taking a short break, so the office will be closed from 12 noon on Friday 24th April, reopening on Thursday 7th May.

Sophia will still be holding the fort while we’re away 💪 She’ll be working remotely for most of the time (with the odd visit into the office) and will be available during normal hours 9:00am – 5:00pm.

If there’s anything urgent before we close, just drop us a message and we’ll get it sorted.
