Animal advocates say this is about closing a dangerous gap in protection.

In Anchorage, supporters are backing a proposed ordinance that would penalize pet owners for transporting animals unsafely, including leaving them unrestrained in pickup truck beds or inside hot vehicles. The proposal follows a tragic fire that advocates say exposed limits in current animal welfare laws.

If approved, the measure could allow fines or jail time in cases where unsafe transport puts an animal’s life at risk.

Adds roughly £550–£575/year for full entitlement pensioners
✔ Universal Credit / Family Benefits
Two-child benefit cap removed from April 2026
Standard allowance in Universal Credit to increase by over 6%
✔ Salary-Sacrifice Pensions
From April 2029, only the first £2,000/year of salary-sacrifice contributions remain exempt from National Insurance
Contributions above £2,000 will face NI → affects higher-earning individuals
✔ Other supportive measures
Freeze on regulated rail fares for one year

Companies House have now announced that ID verification is compulsory for directors starting from 18th November 2025.

From 18 November 2025, directors and people with significant control (PSCs) will be legally required to verify their identity. Read more about the identity verification process.
