NYDA was created as a youth organisation in the Neath Port Talbot area in 2015 to encourage teamwork and assist with mathematics skills

through the median of a Youth Darts Academy. They are situated in the upstairs hall of the Briton Ferry Workingman’s Club and run sessions every Sunday. NYDA has enlisted volunteers that assist in this venture and provide a support network giving guidance and advice to individuals as they require. The sport is ever-changing, especially with the recent success of Luke Littler, who became the youngest world champion in darts history, at 17 years old. NYDA believes that the future is through grassroots development programmes such as the Academy where presenting the opportunity to play and practice is the start of the journey. The aim is for it to be a relaxed environment where they can all be themselves and play against/with people of their own age or standard to help develop their technique and game. The Academy sessions work on many aspects of the game and many levels of experience are welcome including novices. NYDA has created progression pathways when individuals have developed naturally, such as through Youth County trails, which potentially leads to Under-18 Wales selection. Overall, through the academy's tender, there have been numerous successful cases of local academy players representing their county and country, which are memories they will never forget. An example of this currently is that 6 members of the academy play for Glamorgan Youth County and one individual is representing Wales for the second year, this year as Captain in the Tri-Nations British Internationals and WDF European Youth Cup. This type of youth organisation is to date one of the original academies in Wales where NYDA provides additional support and guidance to other local academies that have open such as Dyffryn, Port Talbot and Llansamlet with no thought of competition but that of comradery and how more local youth can benefit from this organic, amazing organisation. Sunday's 16:30-18:00pm
Ages 6-10 - Green Board
Under 14's - Blue Board

Sunday's 17:30-19:30pm
Under 18's and experienced players - Red Board

Amazing news and proud beyond belief for two of Neath Youth Darts Academy that will be representing Wales U18 for 2026.
Well done to Lloyd Sterio for his continued success and being selected as captain again this year.
However our massive congratulations goes out to Tia Sterio for all she has accomplished this year and proved that she deserves her intentional spot on her own merit and accord.
Couldnt be more proud, each year Neath Youth Darts Academy helps to support more and more international players. Though this is via their hard work, we are just passengers that have provided an opportuntity and amazed by their humble begininings with us and their ongoing support.
