You're storing money wrong. 🍽️

Most people keep everything in one place. Then wonder why they're not building wealth. Here's how to fix it in four buckets:

Kitchen Table Money 👉 cash for right now
Fridge Money 👉 savings for what's coming
Freezer Money 👉 long-term investments & property
Deep Freezer Money 👉 diversified retirement funds

It's the same principle your kitchen works on. Each storage area has a different job.

£20,000 planted in an ISA today, becomes around £35,000 in 10 years.

At a steady 6% growth rate, it's possible. And all of that growth is completely tax-free.
No income tax. No capital gains tax. Nothing.

We've seen a strong history of 5–6%+ returns on well-structured ISA portfolios. Nobody can tell you exactly what the future holds, but what the numbers do tell you is this: the earlier you start, the more time your money has to do the work.

The ISA isn't just a savings account. It can be a powerful tax-efficient tool, yet most people never use it to its full potential.

💬 DM us or reach out directly to Yash and let's look at what your ISA could look like in 10 years.

A good accountant crunches the numbers you've already earned.
A great one forecasts the numbers you're going to earn. And then helps you keep more of them.

One is like a historian. The other is like a fortune teller.
The fortune teller is the one you want in your corner, and the one I want sat at the table with us when we strategise your pension, your dividends, and the tax you're about to owe.

Some of the most remarkable wealth in the UK was built by people who arrived with absolutely nothing. 🏘️
Refugees. Immigrants. Families who started from scratch and built something extraordinary.

But many times, the next generation inheriting that wealth has no idea how to look after it, and that wealth gets depleted over time. Money without financial education doesn't multiply. It disappears.

Real wealth isn't just a number in your bank account. It's a system that needs to be built to outlive you and support the people you love long after you're gone. That also means passing on the right knowledge and attitude towards money, not just the assets themselves. Whether wealth has been built from the ground up or inherited, the right mindset and the right guidance make all the difference.

Founder of 1st Financial Foundations, Yash Tosar, shares “My grandfather told his friend I was doing well and on the same day told me he hoped I'd get sacked.”

Years later, he recalls the shocking statement as a sobering moment that helped him with his journey as a business owner and financial adviser.👇

True wealth isn't your paycheck. It's owning your time, your income, and your future on your terms. Not everyone needs to be an entrepreneur but if your financial security is tied too much to your employer, this is a long and sometimes unreliable path to financial freedom.

There's no such thing as a 25 year mortgage.

The fact that you have to renew your mortgage every 2 to 5 years means you get to adjust your mortgage and repayments to where the interest rates are at that time and based on your needs. The average person moves home 7x in their life and the amount of mortgage debt they need adjusts as job promotions, families and more become a part of their life.

The full podcast episode is out now on A Lot Going On with Raj Kotecha (available on YT, Spotify and more).

Being born wealthy isn't a bad thing but the truth is that many who get "easy money" through inheritance are likely to lose it down the line because they don't know how to handle wealth.

Financial education isn't optional, it's your safeguard. Teach your kids (or yourself) how savings, investments, pensions and wealth building really works. Then you can protect what you've built even as you pass it on.

DM or reach out to the details below, if you need advice on your wealth, inherited or otherwise.

Remortgaging can save you money and match your plans better, but get the timing wrong and the costs can wipe out your wins.

If you're early in your fixed term, remortgaging is rarely worth it because of early redemption costs which can end up higher than the savings you're aiming to get.

Plan smart: Talk to a professional mortgage adviser 6-7 months before your fix ends. Plenty of time to check your situation, scan the market, and sort the best next step for you with no surprises.

I'm Bhaven Ondhia, Managing Director and mortgage specialist at 1st Financial Foundations, here to help make your mortgage work for your wealth, family, or business. Get in touch.

When’s the right time to get a mortgage? The right time is when your affordability is clear, your income is protected, and the mortgage fits where you are in life right now.

Rates will go up. Rates will go down. Property prices will do the same. There’s no magic moment where the stars line up perfectly. Have a look at what really matters is you:
➡️ Can you comfortably afford the payment, even if rates move?
➡️ Does this mortgage support your bigger plans, family, business, retirement?
➡️ Is your income, the thing that pays for everything, properly protected so you can keep up your payments?

Property is a long-term investment. If it feels right, and your circumstances align, that’s the right time to move.

Send me a message and we’ll look at your numbers, your goals, and your options together.
