Companies House have confirmed that from 18 November 2025, all company directors and people with significant control (PSCs) will be legally required to verify their identity under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023.

From this week, HMRC will begin writing to sole traders and landlords earning over £50k to raise awareness of Making Tax Digital for Income Tax, ahead of mandation in April 2026.
