Application times can vary, although in November 2025 AIMA has issued 1000's biometrics appointments which is welcome news for Investors.

FAQ - how long do I need to keep my investment for? 🇵🇹

An investment is only required whilst your visa is temporary. Once you’ve secured permanent residency rights after 5 years, there’s no need to keep your investment locked in.

FAQ - What happens if my investment value drops below the original €500,000 EUR? 🇵🇹

What matters is that you don’t withdraw any of the original capital during the required holding period. As long as your funds stay invested, you’ll remain eligible for renewal after two years.
