What’s the Cost of a Comfortable Retirement?

Planning for retirement? You’re not alone. With living costs on the rise, many are wondering how much is enough to retire comfortably.
🔹 A single person now needs:
• £13,400/year for a minimum lifestyle
• £31,700/year for moderate
• £43,900/year for comfortable

🔹 For couples:
• £21,600, £43,900 & £60,000 respectively

🏖️ A comfortable retirement means holidays, dining out, and a few luxuries. But to get there, you may need a pension pot between £540k – £800k (plus State Pension) depending on your plans.
🎯 The earlier you start planning, the better. Whether you’re years away or getting close to retiring, we can help you map out a realistic plan.

Capital Gains Tax (CGT) may not be the UK’s ‘most hated’ tax, (that honour goes to Inheritance Tax), but it can still catch many of us out. CGT is a tax on the profit, or ‘gain’ that you make when you sell or even gift an asset that’s increased in value.

Money is very much on everybody’s minds at the moment – especially as the cost of living continues to rise. As an HR professional, you’ll know that anxiety around money, and managing a stretched household budget, can have a big knock-on effect on how well we perform at work. Last year, out of 2,035 UK adults who were surveyed, 88% of employees with children said that worrying about money affected their ability to do their jobs.

Happiness isn’t all about salaries and bonuses. Money and mental health are invariably linked, which is why we wanted to let you know that we are offering free financial education sessions and workshops to support employees in our local community. Each session is specifically tailored to the needs and concerns of your staff, whatever life stage they’re at.

In our experience, talking about money is easier and clearer face-to-face, so we like to keep it local and be there in person, although we can run virtual sessions if your workforce is part remote.

So far, We’ve found that staff get a lot out of the sessions and ask many questions. There are booklets for each session for employees to refer back to.

We believe we have a moral responsibility to share our skills and experience to promote financial well-being in the workplace. So, there’s no obligation to take these sessions further – unless individuals choose to do so. Very often, just knowing where to get guidance or go for help is all people need.
