2025 has been a year for the record books;
✅️ A familiar face for Nick joined us as a team member, a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant, Jason
✅️ We saw record breaking growth in Q3 and Q4
✅️ Registered for VAT
✅️ Hit our target for client signs up
✅️ Hit a target Nick had set and been working hard towards

It's been extremely hard work and had it's challenging moments, but everything is going in the right direction.

❓️ Can I treat my employees (directors included) without incurring a tax bill?

👍 Y E S !

This message is for YOU 🫵 and just in time for Christmas! 🎅🎄

HMRC say that you don’t have to pay tax on a benefit for your employee if all of the following apply:

🔹️ it costs you £50 or less to provide (per person, inclusive of VAT)

🔹️ it isn’t cash or a cash voucher (most gift cards are fine though 😉 )

🔹️ it isn’t a reward for their work or performance

🔹️ it isn’t in the terms of their contract

This is known as a ‘trivial benefit’. You don’t need to pay tax or National Insurance on it.

So if you fancy treating your employees to some chocolates, or flowers, or gift cards etc...now you know not to spend more than £50 per person and it may qualify for tax relief!

If you’re not sure whether a benefit counts as a trivial benefit, you know who to call 😉

* Trivial benefits should not be given so regularly that they could be considered as forming part of an employees pay package. We recommend no more than 6 of these trivial benefits per employee per 12months (directors also should not receive more than 6 of these trivial benefits in any 12month period)

** Please note that you do have to pay tax on any benefits that don’t meet all the aforementioned criteria.

My business didn't catch fire!

I went on holiday this week, and guess what?!

The world didn't end, and my business didn't internally combust 😁

This is the first holiday since starting my business (Sept23) that I've actually chilled out 😎

I mean, I've still done some work each day - but I'll happily take 3-4 hours instead of the usual 13-14 hours!

💡 One MAJOR decision that allowed me to relax?...Hiring a team member!

If you've seen my recent posts you'll know that Jason Ives joined the team last month. Having known Jase for over 10 years I knew that I could put my trust in him to keep the ship afloat, and he knew that he could reach out to me, whenever, without judgement 👌

Next week I'll share some systems and helpful tips 💡 I implemented to keep everything running smoothly whilst I was away.
