With Haith's – we just made it onto their weekly engagement list by being one of their top engagers 🎉

We've just ordered more bird food too. We are particular happy to find we are being visited by both a female and male greater spotted woodpecker. We are hoping we will have little woodies!

Happy National Tea Day!

Happy National Tea Day!

Fancy a cuppa?? It's National Tea Day!! 🫖☕

And what better way to indulge in a cup tea than with an Emma Bridgewater mug and a JellyCat tea bag 😍🦋

A few tax pointers pre 5 April:

If you are a higher rate tax payer ensure that you have gift-aided any charity donations and kept a record of these. This will ensure you get tax relief for them at higher, rather than basic rate.

Have you made use of gift reliefs? The £3,000 gift allowance can be brought forward ONE year if not used. If you did not use it last year it can be brought forward to this year. It cannot be carried forward again.

The deadline is 5 April for making any ISA or pension contributions for this tax year.

As accountants we can only advise in respect of tax efficiency. For financial advise you need to speak to an Independent Financial Advisor.

Inheritance Tax (IHT) is paid when a person's estate is worth more than £325,000 when they die - exemptions, passing on property. Sometimes known as death duties.

Welcome to our new followers.

It's a quiet time of year in the tax world.

I'm clearing archives, setting up new client files and getting ourselves and our clients ready for Making Tax Digital.

Have you received confirmation that it applies to you? If you already use software to prepare your VAT returns you shouldn't find it to hard to use the same software for MTD.

Do get in touch if you have any queries.

31 January.

Today is the deadline for submitting 2025 personal, and partnership, self assessment tax returns and paying any tax due.

Hopefully, if you had to do one, it was done some time ago and you've paid the tax or set up a payment.

If not, that's your activity for the day decided!

One week to go before the tax return deadline.

I've got one left to do, the information has been promised for Monday.
Is yours in?

Not back to work yet and wondering what to do with yourself?

If you're one of those people who hasn't done their tax return yet, how about sorting that out?

Filing dreading is 31 January and any tax liability must be paid by then too.
