📢 Important Update from Companies House (Effective 18 November 2025)

🕵️‍♂️ New Mandatory ID Verification for Directors and PSCs

From 18 November 2025, all UK company directors, Persons with Significant Control (PSCs), and new incorporations will be required to verify their identity as part of the new Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act (ECCTA).

✅ Who must verify:
• All existing and new directors
• All PSCs (shareholders / ultimate owners)
• Anyone forming a new company
• Authorised Corporate Service Providers (ACSPs) managing filings

✅ How to verify:
• Via GOV.UK One Login (online ID check)
• Or through your ACSP (e.g. your accountant)

✅ What happens if you don’t:
• Your company filings could be rejected
• You could face penalties or restrictions
• You may be unable to act as a director legally

💡 Action Points for Business Owners:
1. Ensure all directors and PSCs have a valid photo ID (passport, driving licence, etc.)
2. Speak to your accountant to complete verification before your next filing
3. Watch for Companies House updates on deadlines
