If your employees receive Benefits in Kind, the P11D deadline is approaching fast.

By 6 July, employers must submit P11D forms to HMRC for employees or directors who receive taxable benefits outside payroll.

Benefits in Kind may include:
✔️ Company cars
✔️ Private medical insurance
✔️ Interest-free or low-interest loans
✔️ Other employee perks and benefits

Important reminder: it’s not just about filing with HMRC — you must also provide a copy of the P11D to the relevant employees.

Missing the deadline or filing incorrectly could lead to penalties and unnecessary compliance issues.

At Zaidi & Co, we help businesses stay on top of payroll, benefits, and reporting obligations with confidence.

Last Thursday, M Zaidi & Co had the pleasure of attending the Surrey Bedser Lunch at The kia Oval as headline sponsors of the surrey championship.

Whilst the weather unfortunately had other plans and prevented us from watching England and New Zealand train, the afternoon more than made up for it. It was a fantastic opportunity to spend time with clients, colleagues and friends of Surrey Cricket, enjoying great conversation, excellent food and the company of some truly wonderful people.

A particular highlight was listening to Matt Prior share stories from his England career and his reflections on the current state of the national team. His honesty, humour and insight made for a fascinating discussion.

It was also inspiring to hear from Surrey Chair, Carol Potter, who spoke about the incredible work being undertaken by the Surrey Cricket Foundation and the impact it continues to have across local communities. The Foundation's commitment to creating opportunities, improving lives and making cricket accessible to all is something that deserves to be celebrated.

For us, one of the greatest pleasures of the day was being able to invite valued clients and members of our team to share in the experience. In a world that moves increasingly fast, taking the time to come together, strengthen relationships and enjoy each other's company is something that should never be taken for granted.

A huge thank you to Surrey Cricket Foundation, Chris Coleman, Lucy walliker Surrey Cricket for their hospitality and for bringing together such a memorable afternoon.

Most businesses don’t treat bookkeeping as a decision tool. They treat it as a reporting requirement.

QuickBooks is powerful — but only when it’s set up, maintained, and reviewed with intent. Otherwise, it becomes just a storage system for transactions instead of a source of clarity.

At Zaidi & Co, we don’t just manage your books — we refine them.

We help you:
• Clean and structure your QuickBooks setup
• Identify missed or unrecorded expenses
• Fix misclassifications that distort your true position
• Build real-time financial visibility
• Turn reports into decisions, not confusion

Because accurate numbers don’t just show your past — they shape your future.

Stop guessing your financial position. Start understanding it with confidence.

The UK landlord tax landscape is changing — and the impact will be felt from April 2027.

Individual landlords in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland will face higher income tax rates on rental income across all bands. Meanwhile, rental income held within a limited company structure is not affected in the same way.

That difference is becoming harder to ignore.

Especially for:
• Higher-rate taxpayers
• Portfolio landlords
• Overseas landlords managing UK property

But incorporation is not a one-size-fits-all solution.

There are costs, legal considerations, and long-term implications that need proper analysis before any decision is made.

What matters most is timing.

Landlords who start reviewing their structure now have far more flexibility to plan ahead, compare scenarios, and make informed decisions — rather than reacting under pressure closer to the deadline.

The window to restructure before April 2027 is open… but it won’t stay open indefinitely.

At Zaidi & Co, we help landlords assess the full picture and make decisions based on long-term tax efficiency, not short-term assumptions.

A record number of taxpayers are getting ahead of the game.

HMRC reports that nearly 738,000 Self Assessment tax returns were filed during April 2026 alone, showing that more people are choosing to file early rather than waiting until January.

Why?

✔️ Faster tax refunds
✔️ Less last-minute pressure
✔️ More time to budget for tax payments
✔️ Opportunity to correct mistakes early
✔️ Proof of income for mortgages, loans, and benefits

One common misconception is that filing early means paying early.

It doesn't.

Even if you submit your tax return now, any tax due isn't payable until 31 January 2027.

With over 12 million tax returns expected this year, leaving everything until the last minute can create unnecessary stress and increase the risk of errors.

At Zaidi & Co, we help individuals and businesses prepare and file their tax returns accurately and on time, giving you peace of mind long before the deadline arrives.

The new Advisory Fuel Rates came into effect on 1 June, and businesses using company cars should ensure they're applying the correct rates.

These rates are commonly used when:
✔️ Reimbursing employees for business mileage
✔️ Calculating fuel payments for company cars
✔️ Managing travel and expense claims

If your payroll, expenses policy, or mileage calculations haven't been reviewed recently, now is a good time to check they're aligned with the latest HMRC guidance.

Small changes can have a significant impact when applied across multiple employees and journeys.

At Zaidi & Co, we help businesses stay compliant with payroll, benefits, and HMRC requirements throughout the year.

A major employment compliance change has arrived — and many businesses may not be prepared.

From 6 April 2026, employers are legally required to keep detailed records of employee annual leave and holiday pay for a minimum of six years.

Records must include:
✔️ Ordinary and additional annual leave
✔️ Carried-forward leave
✔️ Holiday pay calculations
✔️ Payments made instead of unused leave

What makes this particularly important is that the change was not widely highlighted in the government's published timetable, meaning many payroll and finance teams may have overlooked it.

Failure to comply is a criminal offence, with penalties of up to £20,000 per employee.

If your payroll systems, record-keeping procedures, or HR processes haven't been reviewed recently, now is the time to ensure they meet the new requirements.

At Zaidi & Co, we help businesses stay ahead of regulatory changes and maintain compliance with evolving payroll and employment obligations.

Families could benefit from lower costs this summer as the government introduces a temporary VAT reduction on selected children's meals and family leisure activities.

From 25 June to 1 September 2026, VAT on eligible activities will be reduced from 20% to 5%, helping make family days out more affordable.

The reduced rate applies to:
✔️ Children's meals from dedicated children's menus
✔️ Cinema tickets
✔️ Theatre performances
✔️ Concerts and exhibitions
✔️ Theme parks and attractions
✔️ Zoos, museums, fairs and circuses

However, some activities remain excluded, including takeaway meals and sporting activities.

For affected businesses, now is the time to prepare. Pricing structures, till systems, websites, booking platforms and accounting software may all need updating to reflect the temporary change.

At Zaidi & Co, we help businesses stay compliant with changing tax rules and prepare for upcoming VAT changes with confidence.
