Auto-enrolment isn't a one-off job for employers. 📋

It's easy to assume that once your scheme is set up and your team is enrolled, you're done. ☑️

However, you're required to check your staff's eligibility every payday. 👋

Because someone's status can change without anyone noticing. 👀

Be it a new starter, a 22nd birthday, a pay rise, overtime, or a bonus that takes someone over the earnings trigger of £833 a month. 💷

Any of these can mean an employee needs enrolling, and missing it can lead to compliance action from The Pensions Regulator. 😬

That's why having clear payroll process is crucial, because it makes this much easier to stay on top of. ✅

If you'd like a hand reviewing your auto-enrolment set-up, get in touch. 👇

Homes for sale are at a 12-year high, so why are mortgage rates climbing? 🏠

If you're thinking of buying or moving this autumn, September's property news probably sent mixed signals.

Rightmove reports the most homes on the market for this time of year in 12 years. 📈

But several large lenders raised their mortgage rates in the same month. 💷

This means more choice for buyers, but borrowing that costs more. 👀

It's a bit of a mess, and while you can't control the rate market, two things are within your reach. 🔑

In our latest article, we look at what's happening and where we'd focus if you're buying this autumn. 🤝

As you've probably heard (or seen on Andy Burnham's Instagram), there's new help for first-time buyers. 🏠

The Prime Minister has announced "Your First Home", a Help to Buy-style scheme for first-time buyers in England. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Under it, buyers of new-build homes could get on the ladder with a 2.5% deposit. 💷

The government would also provide an equity loan worth 20% of the property's value, with an initial interest-free period. 👀

The rest would typically come from a mortgage.
However, the scheme isn't open for applications yet, and plenty of detail is still to come. 🔮

It also covers new-builds only, so it won't suit every buyer's search.

Whatever happens next, getting your own finances ready is never wasted effort. 🔑

So, if you're thinking about buying and want to talk through your options, get in touch. 👇

Most people picture life insurance as a single lump sum. 💷

But there's another type worth knowing about: family income benefit. 👨‍👩‍👧

Instead of one large payout, it pays your family a regular, tax-free income for a set period if you pass away during the policy term.

For many families, this is actually much closer to what they'd really need. 🙌

Because replacing a salary month by month can be easier to manage than a big lump sum.

It also maps neatly onto the years the children are still at home or the mortgage is still being paid. 🏡

On top of this, it's often more affordable than a large lump-sum policy, because the total payout reduces as time goes on. 🤔

It won't be right for everyone, but it's a useful option many people simply haven't heard of.

If you'd like to review what kind of cover fits your family, get in touch. 👇

The rules around workplace pensions are changing, and it's worth getting ahead of them sooner than later. 👋

The Pension Schemes Act 2026 became law in April, and while most changes roll out gradually towards 2030, they'll reshape how pensions are run and turned into income. 💷

Bigger "megafunds", automatic tidying-up of tiny lost pots, and a new focus on value rather than just low charges are all on the way. 👀

None of it means you need to act today, but it's a reminder to finally find out what you're actually holding. 💡

In our latest article, we break down what's changing and what it means for your retirement pot. 🤝

Money's tight, and cutting your pension contributions looks like an easy win. 💷

However, before you opt out of your workplace pension, you should know what you'd be giving up. 😬

Because it's not just your own contribution that stops.

You'd also lose your employer's contribution, which is money they add on top of your salary, and the tax relief the government adds too. 👀

And for every £1 you'd save by opting out, you're often turning down significantly more going into your future.

There may be moments when pausing genuinely makes sense, but it should be a last resort, not a first one.

Because there are often better ways to ease the pressure without walking away from free money. 🤔

If money's tight and you're tempted to opt out, contact us first, it's worth a quick conversation with an expert. 👇

You've found your next home. Then your buyer pulls out. There's nothing more anoying. 🏠

If you've already exchanged, it's a massively stressful moment, and it's exactly what bridging finance was built for. 💷

A bridging loan is short-term finance secured against property, there to cover you until longer-term money arrives. ⏳

It can stop a chain collapsing, help you move fast on an auction property, or buy somewhere that needs work before a lender will fund it. 👀

But it's not something to rush into, and the exit plan matters more than anything. 😬

In our latest article, we explain how bridging works, what it costs, and when it's the right call. 🤝

The amount of investment risk that suits you isn't fixed. 📣

It shifts as your life changes, and it's worth revisiting more often than most people do. 💷

In your 30s, with decades ahead, you may be comfortable riding out the market's ups and downs.

Closer to retirement, protecting what you've built often matters more than chasing every last bit of growth. 👀

Life events shift it too, be it a a new baby, an inheritance, or a career change. 🤔

All in all, the risk in your portfolio should reflect where you are now, not where you were when you first set it up.

If it's been a while since you thought about how much risk you're comfortable with, contact us for a review. 👇

The Budget lands on October 28th, and the speculation has already started. 🗣️

Some of it is worth your attention, but most of it isn't yet.

A few things are already confirmed, however, including a major change to how pensions are treated for inheritance tax from 2027. 👀

But acting on rumours that may never happen can create problems that are hard to undo. 😬

In our latest article, we separate what's confirmed from what's just speculation, and explain the sensible steps worth taking now. 🤝

When it comes to pensions, time does more of the work than you might think. ⏳

Why? Because the earlier money goes in, the longer it has to grow, and the difference can be surprisingly large. 💷

Let's say there are two people, each paying £200 a month into a pension.

One starts at 30. The other waits until 40.

Assuming the same growth, the earlier starter could retire with a considerably bigger pot, despite paying in for only ten more years. 👀

That's the power of compound growth, with returns earning returns, year after year. 📈

It's why "I'll sort my pension later" is one of the most expensive phrases in personal finance. 😔

The good news? If you're already paying in, even small increases now can make a meaningful difference over time.
