Did you know?

More than 8 in 10 mortgage customers are on fixed-rate deals.

This means changes in mortgage rates don't necessarily affect everyone straight away. The impact can arrive months or even years later, when a fixed deal ends and it's time to remortgage.

Some 18-year-olds will now be able to continue getting 50% off most train fares until shortly before their 19th birthday.

From 17 August, the 16–17 Saver Railcard will remain valid for a full year from the date it is purchased. This means someone buying the railcard just before turning 18 can continue using the discount for another year.

The change could make a real difference for young people travelling regularly to college, training or their first job.
