We’re reaching out to inform you of some important upcoming changes to Companies House rules and regulations. You may have already received an email from GOV.UK asking you to verify your identity—please note that this is a legitimate request. However, if you feel more comfortable, you can complete the identity verification directly through the official GOV.UK website.

What is the Identity Verification Check?
The Identity Verification Check is part of a new initiative aimed at combating identity fraud and money laundering. This process was launched on April 8, 2025, on a voluntary basis, but will become mandatory later this year.
We are currently in the process of setting up a system that will allow us to assist you with these checks. However, if you wish to complete the process sooner, you can do so independently via the GOV.UK website (link provided at the end of this email).

Who Needs to Complete This?
Anyone involved with a UK company, including Directors and Persons with Significant Control (PSC), will need to complete the Identity Verification Check.
You’ll need one of the following forms of photo ID:
A biometric passport (from any country)
A UK photo driving license (full or provisional)
A UK Biometric Residence Permit (BRP)
A UK Biometric Residence Card (BRC)
A UK Frontier Worker Permit (FWP)
Once verified, you will receive a personal code—this is unique to you, not your company. You’ll need this code:
When filing your confirmation statement
If you are appointed as a director
If you become a Person with Significant Control (PSC)
If you have already received your code, please email it to [email protected] along with your name, and we will update Companies House on your behalf.

Important Deadline:
Please note that starting November 18, 2025, it will be mandatory for all Directors and PSCs to complete the identity verification and include their code when submitting information to Companies House.
If you’d prefer ADPL to complete the verification on your behalf, please prepare your photo ID documents. We will contact you as soon as our verification system is live.
