đźš— BIG NEWS for anyone using their own car for work! đźš—
HMRC has increased the approved mileage allowance from 45p to 55p per mile for the first 10,000 business miles 🎉 (with anything over 10,000 miles staying at 25p per mile).
But here’s something many people don’t realise… 👀
If your employer pays less than the HMRC mileage rate, you may be able to claim tax relief on the difference from HMRC đź’·
For example:📍 HMRC approved rate = 55p per mile📍 Employer pays = 30p per mile➡️ You could claim tax relief on the 25p difference per mile
✅ Keep records of:✔️ Your business mileage✔️ What your employer paid✔️ Dates and journey details
The increase is backdated to April 2026, so it’s worth checking what you may be entitled to claim!
