Often, business growth starts with reconnecting to why you started in the first place. 🤔

In a recent Co- create session, we worked with our client on their wider business vision. Through that process, the founder was able to reconnect with the passion behind what they do and bring that renewed clarity and excitement back into the business.

The impact has been phenomenal.

That energy showed up in their sales and marketing, but also in the performance of the team around them. With a clearer vision and the right support in place, quarter-on-quarter sales doubled and profit increased by 500%.

This is exactly why Co- create goes beyond the numbers.

Yes, we look at performance, profit and strategy, but we also give business owners the time and space to step back, think clearly and make confident decisions about where the business is heading next.

Running a business is not always easy, but with Co- you are not doing it alone.

Co- create is our approach to business development for Co- clients. Through regular meetings, we give business owners the guidance, space and support they need to work through challenges, make confident decisions and move their business in the right direction.

If your business only works when you’re there… something needs to change.

If processes, decisions, and ways of working exist only in your head, the business can quickly become reliant on your constant involvement.

📈 Growth depends on memory, availability, and you being there to keep everything moving.

This is something we see often with growing businesses. Systems evolve naturally over time, but without space to step back and review them properly, business owners can end up carrying far more than they need to.

That’s one of the things we work through in our Co-Create sessions.

Together, we help business owners step away from the day-to-day and work on the business rather than constantly being in it.

We look at:

✨ Where the business is overly reliant on the owner
✨ What could be documented or systemised
✨ How to create more structure around decision-making and operations
✨ Where changes could support healthier, more sustainable growth

Co-Create helps business owners step back from the constant cycle of day-to-day tasks and move into a more strategic role within the business. Creating the space to focus on the future, make clearer decisions and think more intentionally about growth.

If this resonates with you and you feel caught in the hamster wheel of everyday tasks, get in touch to find out how our Co-Create service can help you.

Are you growing, standing still or slipping behind?

Looking at your business numbers on their own only tells part of the story.

📈 Revenue may be up, but are expenses rising faster?

📉 Costs may be down, but is that protecting profit or limiting growth?

In this post, we’re sharing a 12-month snapshot of how Co-supported sectors changed in the year to 31 March 2026, looking at both revenue and expenses.

The results show just how different the picture can be from one sector to another, and why it is so important to understand your numbers in context.

At Co-, we help our clients look beyond the headline figures, understand what is really happening in their business and make better decisions for the year ahead.

📌 Save this post as a useful benchmark for your own business.

Do you know an ambitious business owner who is ready for better accounting, clearer advice and support to grow?

We have launched a referral thank you scheme for anyone who introduces a business owner to Co-.

If your recommendation leads to them becoming a client, we will send you a £100 voucher to spend at Wilson’s in Ladywell, SE13.

Wilson’s is run by two of our clients, Alina and Joel, and in our opinion, it is one of the best dining experiences in London, so this felt like the perfect way to say thank you.

Referrals have always meant a lot to us. They usually come from people who understand the value of the relationships, advice and support we provide, not just the accounts and tax work.

If you know a business owner who might benefit from working with Co-, introduce us by email, send us their details, or invite them along to a Co-nnect workshop.

And if they become a client, dinner at Wilson’s is on us.

For more details of our referral scheme, please visit our latest blog: ‘Co- Referral Programme’. https://co-accounting.co.uk/blog/co-referral-programme

A mix of business, cultural and local developments has been unfolding across South London in recent months. 🌳

These are the kinds of changes that can influence footfall, demand and long-term opportunity for local businesses.

🎨 In Lewisham, New Cross and Deptford’s Creative Enterprise Zone has been re-secured, helping to protect studio space, funding and long-term support for creative businesses. It’s a clear signal that the borough is continuing to back its creative sector as a key part of the local economy.

💊 In Crystal Palace, is celebrating its 50th anniversary, a milestone that reflects both longevity and the important role independent businesses continue to play in their local communities.

📚 Closer to home, one of our clients has been named a finalist in the Business Book Awards, congratulations 👏

🏆 And for those thinking about recognition or growth opportunities, entries are now open for the Above & Beyond Bromley Business Awards
The awards are free to enter across multiple categories, offering local businesses a chance to gain visibility and recognition within the borough.

For business owners, it’s these kinds of local shifts that can quietly influence opportunity.

Numbers don’t actually mean anything.

💰 Not profit.
📈 Not revenue.
✅ Not KPIs.

The meaning comes from us - the stories, assumptions and emotions we attach to them.

In this blog, Damion explores how a philosophy called Absurdism surprisingly applies to business and accounting… and why the most powerful thing we can do is choose interpretations that empower us rather than limit us.

Meet Sandra 👋

Born and raised in Cuba, Sandra brings a truly unique mix of international experience, business ownership and financial expertise to the Co- team.

At Co-, Sandra works across tax planning, VAT returns and accounting, while also supporting clients with their day-to-day queries over the phone and email. She looks after a wide range of businesses, particularly in the hospitality, wellness and architecture sectors.

Before training to become an accountant, Sandra owned a restaurant in Crystal Palace and later opened a boutique hotel in Havana. Having been a business owner herself, she understands first-hand the challenges clients face and loves helping them build stronger, more successful businesses.

Her career journey has taken her from the United Nations in Geneva to becoming Finance Director of a £7m turnover travel business — but qualifying as an accountant had always been a dream. She is currently completing her AAT qualification and is a much-valued part of the Co- family.

Outside of work, Sandra loves cooking, travelling, exercising and dancing salsa, something she regularly enjoys at salsa events across South London 💃

Co-hesion Day 🌿

Last week, we stepped away from the day-to-day and came together for one of our favourite traditions: Co-hesion Day.

Set in the beautiful surroundings of Brockwell Park Hall, we spent the morning reflecting on the past six months, celebrating the wins, recognising the challenges, and taking time to appreciate just how far we have come as a team.

This year, every single person has pushed themselves to help drive a real shift in the business. The result? Stronger connections, a deeper sense of purpose, and a shared feeling of achievement across the whole team.

After lunch, we explored the hidden gem of the secret walled garden before taking a quiet walk across the lawns, a chance to pause, reset, and look ahead.

Our focus now is on building smarter systems and continuing to grow together as a practice.

Here’s to the next chapter. 🚀
