Outsourcing doesn't fix a broken process. It just moves the problem offshore and adds a time zone to it.

The firms getting it right aren't outsourcing to escape work. They're outsourcing because they've built something worth handing over.

A clean process, a predictable output, a service line their clients rely on every single month. That's what makes outsourcing compound. Not the cost saving on day one, but the capacity it creates by month six.

According to the AAT, most accountants believe AI will enhance the profession rather than replace it. It reduces administrative work and allows accountants to focus on higher-value, strategic tasks. In 2026, AI literacy is now a valued skill employers actively seek.

The real competitive gap forming in UK accounting right now isn't between large firms and small ones. It's between practices that are building AI-literate teams and those still deciding whether to start.
