“Management accounts are just reports.”
Not really.
A set of management accounts should help the people reading them understand what is happening and make better decisions.
That means the content, layout and level of detail need to be useful — not just technically correct.
Sometimes the important question is not:
“Have the reports been prepared?”
It is:
“Do the reports actually answer what the business or board needs to know?”
Good financial reporting should bring clarity, not more confusion.
