Received a Simple Assessment letter from HMRC? Don’t ignore it!

HMRC is issuing around 1.8 million Simple Assessment letters for the 2025/26 tax year.

You may receive one if you have tax to pay on income that hasn’t been collected through PAYE or Self Assessment, for example, savings interest, dividends, pension income or a second source of income.

📌 Check the figures carefully against your own records and make sure any tax due is paid by the deadline shown, generally 31st January 2027.
