Interesting how often pet services get labelled as “luxuries.”

Personally, I see it differently.

I think owning a dog is the luxury.

Caring for it properly is the responsibility that comes with it.

Because once someone chooses to have a dog, things like:

* exercise
* grooming
* training
* care
* enrichment

aren’t really “optional extras” for the dog.

They’re part of responsible ownership.

Yes, not every owner will use a dog walker or groomer.

But that doesn’t automatically make the service itself a luxury.

A lot of the time, people are paying for support because they physically can’t meet every need alone due to work, health, time or circumstance.

👇 Do you see pet services as luxuries… or part of responsible pet ownership?

☀️Important Update ☀️

Due to the scorching weather, we’ve treated the team to a well-earned day off to enjoy the sunshine! 🕶️🍦

We did briefly consider recalling half the staff… but the thought of them turning up in office attire consisting of bikinis, flip-flops, and maybe the odd pair of questionable summer choices made us think twice! 😄

We hope you’re all making the most of the sunshine too 🌞

📅 We’ll be back open as normal tomorrow
⏰ 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Enjoy the sunshine!

Unpopular opinion…

I don’t really understand why some dog walkers charge a full price for one dog… then only a tiny extra amount for a second dog from the same household.

Yes, you save a bit of travel time.

But you’re still:

* responsible for a second dog
* handling a second dog
* managing behaviour, safety and control for a second dog
* and doubling part of the risk

The workload doesn’t suddenly stay the same just because they came from the same house.

I think the pet industry undervalues itself in ways people don’t even realise.

💭 Is your website helping your pet business grow - or putting potential clients off?

If you’re relying on social media alone or using a DIY website that doesn’t truly reflect your business, this week’s episode of The Pet Accountant Podcast is one you won’t want to miss.

🎙️ In this latest episode, Vicky is joined by Jamie Stenton from GetAmplified24 to discuss why a professional website is no longer optional for pet businesses.

Your website is often the very first impression potential clients have of your business. Before they message you, call you or book with you, they’ll usually check your website first - and in a crowded pet industry, that first impression really matters.

Together, Vicky and Jamie dive into:
• Why every pet business needs a professional website
• The biggest mistakes people make with DIY websites
• How web design and branding work together
• How Google visibility and digital marketing drive enquiries
• The long‑term value of investing in your online presence

This episode is packed with practical insights for pet professionals who want to stand out online, build trust and attract better‑quality clients.

🐾 Because in today’s market, your website isn’t just a brochure - it’s one of your most important business tools.

I think one of the most dangerous goals in the pet industry is being “fully booked.”

Because a lot of people are fully booked… and still underpaid, overwhelmed and burnt out.

Being busy doesn’t automatically mean your business is healthy.

Sometimes it just means:

* your prices are too low
* your boundaries are weak
* or your business depends on volume to survive

I’d rather see someone:
✅ work less hours
✅ with better clients
✅ at higher profit

than shout about having no free appointments left for 6 months.

The pet industry glorifies exhaustion far too much.

👇 Do you think “fully booked” is actually success anymore?

Most pet business owners don’t have a money problem -
they have a clarity problem.

Being busy doesn’t mean you’re profitable.
Having money in the bank doesn’t mean it’s all yours.
And ignoring the numbers doesn’t make them go away.

These 5 rules are the foundation we build into every client’s business:
✔ clear separation
✔ tax planned in advance
✔ real profit visibility
✔ monthly reviews
✔ pricing that actually supports growth

This isn’t about judgement.
It’s about control, confidence, and sustainability.

We take on a limited number of pet businesses each month to protect the quality of service we offer.

If you’re ready for clarity instead of chaos,
DM “GROWTH” and we’ll see if we’re the right fit 🧡
